    Two Baclofen questions

Am just about to order my first batch of bac, but as I have to pay $29.00 postage no matter how big the order, just wondered if anyone else uses piracetam with their bac.

I'm thinking, with the time it'll take to get to the UK, I'll be just about to start back at my teaching job. Can't afford not to be on the ball with a class full of angsty 13 year olds, and gather that bac can give you a touch of brain fog (esp when titrating up)

Sure I read on here somewhere that people have counteracted this by including piracetam? Any advice / info would be very much appreciated on how well this works

So, onto the second question. I am a pretty anxious person in general, but wouldn't really say that my drinking is anxiety related. It's more that I look forward to having my wine in the evening - rewarding myself for getting through the day

Has anyone had that, where they have an anxious type personaility but don't relate their anxiety to drinking? Would bac be fairly useless in my campaign to quit drinking if this is the case?

Sorry if these questions have already been discussed previously, I have had a quick search but came up with about 1000 possible links!

Thanks a lot, am really keen to get started asap so appreciate your help

    Two Baclofen questions

    Hi mycall and welcome.

I am also a teacher and understand completely your fears about starting the new term whilst titrating up with baclofen. I started my bac about two weeks before the end of last term, as you know a quiet time in high school.

I did find I was a bit somnolent and the hardest thing on the lower doses was forgetting what you are about to say, or where you have put things, which can be a bit disconcerting when your pupils are watching your every move.

I have had a pretty rought time of it titrating up but i really do think this is because i titrated up a bit too quickly. I think if you go slowly, you should be ok, and if you can go af it might be easier for you too. some people seem to be able to do very well on low doses.

The piracetam really helps me with the brain fog, i was really struggling to get any school work done during the holidays, but once i started the piricatam it really helped.

The one thing that i would say is that it reallly does work, I am now, coming up to my third AF weekend and I really do not miss it at all, well thats not true i feeel at a loss sometimes of what to do with myself, but i dont crave the alcohol.

Keep in touch, you have definitely come to the right place.

      Hey Mycall, and welcome.

I've not tried Piracetam, just because you can't get it here, but everyone who has tried it has reported it a winner.

Another way to help combat it is to split your doses as much as possible. This helps, but when you are on the higher doses, expect brain fog.

I was never really anxious, I don't think. I drank because I thought it was such a splendid thing to do. Turns out I was wrong, and it's not that great after all, but nobody told me at the time! So I blame them and...anyway, I digress. Despite not classifying myself as anxious, baclofen definitely helped me. And it made me feel more relaxed, so maybe there was something to it anyway.

      Best of luck!

Thank you both for the welcome and the fab info!

WIll definitely look into starting pretty slowly. I am so determined and so confident that this will work. Reading the experience's of everyone on here has been invaluable.

Like I said, I am an anxious type (focused more on health/safety of my kids etc) but somehow don't tie that anxiety in with the need to drink. Think it started out as a habit which has now got to the stage that I feel it's impossible to do without (I guess that exacerbates the anxiety tho!)

Whatever the cause, it is good to hear of people having success even without the type of anxiety Dr A. talked about

        Onwards and upwards!

Don't get sucked into believing that bac can only help you if you drink to beat anxiety. That's just some bullshit theory from some arse name MurphyZ or some such stupid name. You become an alcoholic because your brain is all sorts of fecked up (that's the scientific term) and the baclofen un-fecks the feckedness. I hope that's clear.

RE the brain-fog: I've spent a good chunk of the last 6 months with a foggy brain and piracetam has definitely helped with that. It's certainly worth getting.

Actually, come to think of it, I've spent much of the last 46 years with a foggy brain, hmmmmm.....
