      Heyyyy Zennie! Thanks darlin'...smooch.

Oh ,and I might add during all this AF time I am being trained on a new job that I've been forced into and is probably one of the most stressfull situations I've ever endured and I have endured a lot. Normally something like this would send me right over the edge running for drink, but not this time. It's truly unbelievable that I'm not craving like mad.

          Katie's Naltrexone update

          week 38

15 days AF - zero craving.

No longer feel the need for "reward" replacement.

Indifferent? Maybe. I simply have no desire to drink.

            WOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

That's so awesome. Thanks, Katie. You're around enough, even if you're not actively here, that if someone sends you a PM or an email about how to do what you did, you'll get it, right? (Was that even a complete sentence?)

                Katie's Naltrexone update

                Hallo it's me again!

Been a while, so I thought I'd update. I no longer count weeks but I think I will have been taking naltrexone following TSM a year the end of this month.
After some time, several weeks maybe months I can't really remember,
of not drinking I decided to see what would happen if I started drinking again because I, well, was curious more than anything. Not so much of a craving, but a need to test the ongoing effect of TSM.

I usually have one drink per day after dinner, on occasion two. No desire for more, in fact I often pour the first one, get sidetracked doing other things and I forget I've poured it. Many times I dump it because I don't really want it. I feel I am still pouring because of habit. It's something I have done for 30 years and I need to work on that for sure

This is a far cry from where I was a year ago. I can't believe it really. My drinking is not increasing with time, this was something I was curious about, because always after a stint of AF I would try to keep my drinking levels down and never succeeded. I don't have to "try" to keep my levels down...it just happens.

I had bloodwork done recently and will get the results next week, so if all is well and my GP agrees, I will be taking Nal for another year to see if there is more progress to be made. I am totally convinced that this method works it just takes patience and perseverance.

                big hugs!

Congrats! A year sober is totally awesome. I propose a toast to another year (insert alcohol free drink here). I am really happy for you.

                            Katie

I am so happy for you, a fellow TSMer who has found success. Your posts helped me especially when you decided to have a crack at going AF, I certainly do think some drinking is continued only out of sheer habit - and I don't mean absolute addictive habit, I mean just because that's 'what we do'.

Feels good to challenge these behaviours and I believe Naltrexone and TSM gives the power to be able to do this.
I used the Sinclair Method to beat my alcoholic drinking.

Drank within safe limits for almost 2 years

                            AF date 22/07/13

I love naltrexone!!! My results were dramatic and instant! Though now I'm in the slow improvement lane. The first day i took it i could only have 3 drinks (think it helped that my first drink was a long island iced tea)... second day i had 4-5 and I'm in the 2-7 range depending on what it is i drink. Wine still tastes good so that number is going down slowly... in the case of hard drinks i find i can only have a couple before i want juice instead. I used to have any where from 12-30 drinks each time i drank and it's only week 3! today i didn't want anything till now (4 hours after work when i usually want one right after)! i think i'll take one and have some wine... b.c. each drink with naltrexone is good medicine. aa was wrong there is a cure. good to have a life beyond my wildest dreams back. I can have fun be social and not avoid everything anymore.
