    Katie's Naltrexone update

Well, had my GP visit to day to discuss whether or not I should continue with Nal. I knew her decision would be heavily weighed on how my bloodwork results turned out.

For the first time in seven years...my results have come back NORMAL on all counts. Unbelievable.

    Liver- normal
    Blood Sugar - normal
    Cholesteral - normal

And I was prescribed another full year of Naltrexone because of it.
    Nov 1 2006 avg 100 - 120 drinks/week
    April 29 2011 TSM avg 70 - 80/wk
    wks* 1- 6: 256/1AF (avg 42.6/wk)
    wks* 7-12: 229/3AF (avg 38.1/wk)
    wks 13-18: 192/5AF (avg 32.0/wk)
    wks 19-24: 176/1AF (avg 29.3/wk)
    wks 25-30: 154/10AF (avg 25.6/wk)
    wks 31-36: 30/37AF (avg 5/wk )

I may not be there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday.

Congrats, Katie! It's great on the nal front but also how awesome to know you're healthy! And NORMAL!!
"Yet someday this will have an end
All choices made or choice resigned,
And in your face the literal eye
        Trace little of your history,
Nor ever piece the tale entire
Of villages that had to burn
And playgrounds of the will destroyed
Before you could be safe from time
And gather in your brow and air
        The stillness of antiquity."

Hi spuds glad you made it over here, there are other threads on meds that are more active and a couple of other people taking nal, I think Red is one so look around and jump in, for the most part we are all friendly and chatty so even if we are taking different meds we are all here to support each other.

                    Katie's Naltrexone update

Just wanted to bump this thread and thought it would be a good place to let other members know that I to continue to have utter success with TSM. I rarely drink, I did get drunk to celebrate something big a few weeks ago - woke up hangover free, no guilt, no remorse no cravings and got on with my day without a thought. I never drink without Nal, but rarely actually want to drink alcohol. Think I've had 4 instance of drinking in the last 4 1/2 weeks, 1 was 2 half pints of beer, 2 were 1 glass of wine (half of which I poured away unfinished on one occasion), 4th was the celebration which was more like just over a full bottle of red. Zilch cravings on a daily basis 1 year and 6 weeks after first starting the method.
I used the Sinclair Method to beat my alcoholic drinking.

Drank within safe limits for almost 2 years

                      Katie's Naltrexone update

                      Hello Lovelies!

Well, 15 long months have gone by and dare I say I am...indifferent to alcohol. Oh, I can still drink a tub load if I let myself, but honestly I have no desire to whatsoever. I think the train has slowed enough for me to easily step off and never look back. History as they say. It's been one heck of a ride, I had many times questioned whether or not TSM was really working, but I persisted for a full year and I am now reaping the benefits. Will I ever pick up another drink? Who can say for sure, what I do know is that I will NEVER take another drop of booze without priming myself with Naltrexone first. I am alcohol and medication free for now and the freedom is awesome!

                      TSM Works!

                            Katie's Naltrexone update

                            Hi All

Thought I'd pop in with an update, I can't believe it's been 3 months since I've posted.
Still have no desire to drink, even when out socially with friends. I'm amazed the clarity that comes with sobriety, the ability to truly "live" life outside of the bottle. I am estatic with my TSM results, at times it doesn't seem real, but it IS! So far, I'm content with not drinking, I've lost weight, picked up hobbies I couldn't do whilst blotto and have closer relations with my friends and family....life is pretty sweet at the moment!

                            Peace to you all,

                            Never give up trying!
