I disagree with the 'Naltrexone if you want to drink' statement the last thing I wanted to do was drink, but was prepared to try anything if it would give me my life back. Baclofen was a nightmare for me and I started TSM hoping to find a way out of the cravings and desire to drink, without the debilitating side effects I had with Bac. My aim was abstenance right from the start and I am now AF most days of the week without any problem at all. Physical cravings have gone, I get the odd naffed off day when I want to get pissed. Alcohol no longer consumes my thoughts, nor the number of days I do or do not drink. Occasionally as new triggers arise I do get drunk, but the majority of the time the nal lets me stop at 1 or 2. I forsee complete abstenance in the near future as a result of the effect Naltrexone and the Sinclair method have had on me. -

Otter I think you're really on to something here. I didn't want to become interested in brain science again, as I was happy in believing that bac is just magical. And while it most definitely is, I think there's an intimate relation between alcoholism, baclofen, and the amygdala.

All I know is that exercise, good diet and meditation in whatever form you do it are all key parts of recovery. I don't think it's a new idea, and of course some people add baclofen or other meds into the equation.Comment

Ukblonde - all I know is that baclofen has transported me into reality in a way that nothing else could. Otter is on to something.Knowledge of what is possible is the beginning of happiness.

"Yes, exercise makes me depressed". Ha! ( It does how ever helps release endorphins that that give you a feeling of euphoria.....)

Peace Otter.......If it works......great ! What ever works ...great! That's why wer'e here....to find something that works for each of us !
