I am hoping for a little advice.
I am currently going up slowly on baclofen, up to 40mg but due to a strong reaction at the start it has taken me about 3 weeks to get to this dose. I have a couple of days a week where i don't find it too hard to go AF because the bac is helping with my anxiety so i have less of a need to drink to relax. The problem I have is that I found out (the hard way as usual) that when i have a few AF days I just build up to a mega binge, seemingly worse than when i drink every day.
I have been on nal before not long ago and i found it very helpful. The problem is my drinking was still spiking and so i stopped taking it. I now know from reading here that is normal on nal and I can't help but think if i had stuck with it a bit longer things may have started to look up. The best thing about nal is that apart fro. A couple of days of a queasy belly to start with the side effects were nonexistant.
So, when I went to see my doc again and told him I had stopped he put me on baclofen and he put me back on naltrexone. After my first 2 bac days when i reacted really strongly and got a bit scared I decided to just stick with the bac and drop the nal.
Wow i can make a long story out of something!
So now I am thinking of adding nal back in while i am going up on bac, or maybe even permanently to try and stop the severity of the big drinking binges. I really don't know whether its a good idea or not and would appreciate any advice than anyone would share. UKBlonde if you are out there I would love your thoughts on this.
If any of you have read my thread you will know that I did something, incredibably, bad, shocking, embarrassing last week on a binge that proved to me that my body just can't cope with these levels anymore, and I need to not do it again. Seriously, i can't go through a week like i just have again.
Thanks for reading, thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.
Sammi x. :thanks:
