    Shotgun Opera Lock and Load

    Hey all,

New here and wanted to do one of those Look at me I'm on bac threads. I've tried everyplace to get bac and even at so called "recovery" places they look at me like I'm some nut job. I put a call into Dr. L so hopefully I can get it through him. I am really amped up about starting already, so I hope I can get an Rx today.

I drink a 750 of Jagermeister every night if I can get my hands on it / afford to buy it. If not I'll drink anything I can find. I think I've blacked out almost every night for the past year to year and a half. Some highlights for the past year have been pin stripping my car with a guardrail, rear naked choking my boss until he passed out in a bar (personal low), taking a benzo "mind eraser" with alcohol and not remembering two days, and all sorts of other incidents which elude me at this time.

The only thing that kept me sane was my job, but I recently quit before I get fired. I'm actually leaving on fairly good terms, but I am falling apart and its starting to show. Right now I'm burning my sick leave and have another two months to keep me afloat.

I am very cynical when it comes to most things and when I first read about bac I thought it was a load of shit. I still am a bit hesitent but I've read a lot of really good things.

    Hi Rob

Choking your boss 'til he passed out but yet leaving the company on good terms is one hell of an achievement. Hang on a mo, it wasn't part of some pervy sex game was it? Never mind, I really don't want to know. What you do for thrills isn't my concern.:H

Good decision contacting Dr L, he'll sort you out. Just follow his titration schedule and don't try to push on too fast and you'll be booze-free in no time.

Welcome by the way, and enjoy the ride.:welcome:

I'm coming up on 2 years of drinking on my terms. Which is hardly ever, and when I do, it's when and how much I want to.

Snake oil I say (it's the good stuff though :H)!

Haha... not a sex game. Yah I don't know... I think I should have been fired but I have worked with the guy for five years. We were out drinking with some friends when I got into it with him. I choked him out and didn't remember doing it. Someone had to tell me four days later -- pathetic. I apologized and he accepted.

Hopefully Bac can work for me too.

So I called Dr. L and he already returned my phone call. He setup a phone consultation with me and it looks like everything is moving along just fine. Supposed to start with 78 pills at 20mg each. I have never heard of walking into a pharmacy and having them call a doctor for a prescription but it sounds like that is what I am supposed to do. Anyone else done that?

Dr. L's method is retarded. It always ends in a fiasco. Pharmacist tech is like: "Wuh? We don't do that."

Do this: Go to walgreens.com. They actually have a request form where they allow you to fill out the med and # of pills and they fax the Dr. to authorize it. Do it AFTER 5pm CST (and before 7) that way Dr. L will actually be by his antiquated fax machine (that he has to pick up and press a # to accept the fax).

            It should go smoothly.

Why the hell didn't you tell me that whenever you found it out???

Yah it sounded strange to me when he said just walk in, but I figured he'd know. To order it online I just fill out an online form or I gotta print some pdf and find a fax myself?

What I've always done is just to ask them politely to call the doctor. It's not unheard of. I've never really had a problem with it, just so you know. Often the response is, "huh? We don't do that." And I say, "Well, that's what he told me to do. Would you mind?" And then they do!

Got my Bac! I had a 45 min conversation with Dr. L and he was very helpful in answering all of my questions. I gave him the fax number to the nearest Wallgreens and went down and picked it up.

I don't know if he would want the exact mg that I am on posted, but lets just say its very low and the rate of going up is slow. The rate is slower in the beginning and then moves up at an even rate. I would suggest anyone thinking about starting Bac call Dr. L. He is more than accommodating and will freely give you any information you want as long as you agree to call him to update him on your status.

                      FIRST DOSE:

Prior to taking my first dose I had been up since 3am the night before and I was extremely tired prior to taking the dose. After the dose I still feel relatively the same. I feel a little bit like I am stoned on weed, but I quit weed because it made me anxious. Bac does not make me feel anxious, but I am feeling a bit loopy. My girlfriend said that my normal mode is hyper anxious and she can see the relaxed state I feel. Normally I will think... and think... and think... about pretty much anything. I pace around the room and worry about stupid shit. Right now I feel like none of that really matters and am just kinda happy watching television.

I don't know if this has happened to anyone else, but I had to fight the temptation to take more bac? I like the feeling and whenever I like the feeling -- I want more! That's why I am a good alcoholic -- leave no beer behind. Anyway... I have started the journey and it will be interesting to see where I end up.

                        Hey, Rob

Many people are tempted to accelerate their titration in the beginning stages. Personally, I wouldn't - SEs can come out of nowhere and whack you between the eyes.

And yes, initially the bac "trip" can be quite enjoyable.

                        Good luck!

Ya I feel a little uneasy about tomorrow... my girlfriend says that I am not all that out of it, but I need to testify in court. I would really rather not appear stoned and out of it when I give testimony, but I was told you only feel out of it the first day. Thoughts?

Just stick to the schedule - you'll be fine. Depending on the time of day you have to testify, you can take your dose a little earlier, or wait longer - it won't make much of a difference if you adjust by a few hours. The level of bac in your blood will be at its highest about 4 hours after taking a dose. The "bac rush" - the moment you can feel it hitting your brain was typically after about 1 - 1 1/2 hours for me.

So if you were to testify at 10.00 a.m., I would take a dose either around 5.00 a.m. or just before 10.00. That'll allow you to say your bit after the peak, or before it.

                            Hope that helps.

...or, you could take it EXACTLY an hour and a half before court appearance, and then you'd be nice 'n happy -and maybe even lovey, like you feel for your tv- and relaxed for the judge. maybe you'd even love the judge. loving judges is good, they like it. and your fate is in their hands, so... ('case you haven't read, many of us have had lovely periods of loving any and all during early days on bac; it's fun, enjoy it. may not last. but be mindful of what your hands do, especially you (choking reference)). good luck in court. good luck with alla this. and welcome!
