LL: Haha, glad you caught that reference.

Cass: Yah I know... you're probably right. I have played soccer though my entire life and I always hated cardio.

Pete: I feel the same way... in time I'll start lifting again.

I must say... wow... I am having a huge Bac "high" right now. No idea why... still on 20-20-20 and didn't change anything. It feels like I was taking bunk ecstasy since the first few days and I just found a real hit inside the prescription bottle. I don't know why it is hitting me so hard right now, but it is really nice! I still haven't even taken my night dose which isn't for another hour and a half.

I took my last dose at 2000 and had crazy vivid dreams. I will be backing my dose up to 1900 to give myself another hour. I did end up drinking about a 750 last night and today I am going to be starting 30-20-30. I'll be dosing at ~0800, 1400, 1900.

      SIDE EFFECTS:

Some nausea, sleepiness, spacey feeling, very vivid dreams that seem like they lasted hours and hours. Also a lovey dovey feeling about 1.5 hours after dosing mixed in with feeling sickish. I also am hearing "wah wah wah wah" auditory hallusinations that are annoying.

I may have a cold / flu but taking the medication makes it hard to tell what is caused by what.

Yup, tinnitus (aka, ringing in the ears). It's incredibly annoying. There are times when I was lying in bed at night, and it sounded like there was a radio on somewhere, but I couldn't quite make out the words. Luckily it goes away!

howdy rob. (but i like 'dose' better; ok if i still call you that?) can't believe i missed a whole day of this thread. dunno how that happened. it's bangin' over here!

your latest post could've been me, tho i don't think so early on in my titration. watch out, that tinitus could turn into some pretty pointed auditory hallucinations. (did you read about the dog barking in my ear?)

and watch it with the exercise; you might turn into the next loOp! but you probably wouldn't mind that.

and the jager, oh the jager... reminds me of an ex bf, a very grody guy named fabian. long straight hair and crooked teeth. pants too high cause he wanted to look like a gangster, no underwear. yeah, don't drink the jager.

          keep on moving up, you!

            Baclofen and exercise (revisited)

Just wanted to contribute to the exercise topic. I have been training consistently since February. Though I have always been "fitness-minded", and have gone through periods of being in really great shape, this is the longest that I have stuck with it. People talk about finding something to do once you get sober, because you realize that you have so much free time. Well, working out is what I filled my time with. Don't worry, I hate cardio too. I concentrate on weight training (the heavier, the better). The only cardio I ever do is HIIT (high intensity interval training), generally in the form of sprints. And maybe I'm a bit crazy (but we already agreed that we all are, right? :H), but I love it. Lo0p has hypothesized that high dose baclofen enables one to lift heavier and push themself harder than they would normally be able to. Since it had been years since I had weight trained with any consistency prior to starting baclofen, I unfortunately have no basis of comparison. Although, according to the Leangains website, I've already surpassed the strength gains that I should have expected to see around the 2 year mark on 2 out of 3 of the benchmark exercises. And I've been training less than a year (much less). Soooo... maybe there is something to that hypothesis after all! Or maybe I'm just that damn good?
Anyway, just trying to give you a little motivation if you're thinking about getting back into working out. Baclofen just might be able to help! If nothing else, you will eventually find yourself with a butt load of free time that you used to spend either drinking or recovering! May as well use it productively.

I've noticed the magical powers of bac and weight lifting, too. There have been several times in the gym where I've loaded up the weights and started lifting, and exclaimed out loud "WTF!" It was much easier to lift that weight than just a few days ago; it seemed very weird.

I like to think of it as a consolation prize. It's like the universe is saying "Yeah, um, sorry about the whole alcoholic thing. Here, have some muscles!"

Isolde: Yah it is annoying. Is your user name I sold Ecstasy? If so I just picked up on it.. before i thought it was some sort of diode or light switch.

Rude: Sure call me whatever you like... I aint mad at cha. But yah the reason I don't worry about side effects is that I read about other people having them on the forums. If I didn't have this place I would freak out about hearing dogs barking and muffled radio stations from the next room.

Pete: I do get stir crazy and I do pushups or run. I have noticed that I do a lot more pushups without breaking a sweat. Up to about 35 /flex where I used to be about 30 and this is being an out of shape fat ass who doesn't train.

Nothing much new to report other than that kid-o's. I feel REALLY tired on 80mg but that might be because its my first day. I keep having head snaps where you are so tired your head falls down and then you snap out of it a few seconds later. I had a tilt today, fucking nasty shit that tastes like turpentine and it makes your poop turn blue -- don't even know why I picked it up other than out of habit. Picked up a jager 350 and am drinking it, although after the tilt I am more apt to just leave it alone.

Going to buy a charger sxt or a used srt-8. I love fast cars and really want the SRT-8, but I would have to buy a 2007 model instead of a brand new SXT due to money. Still debating but I think a new mid ranged trim charger is a smarter buy than a 4 year old top of the line model. I sold my old WRX so I need something other than my fat ass walking or the bus.

Hmm, that's weird. My head would fall back, not down. But I guess that's even weirder :H. Like most SE's, that will pass too.

Well im on day 2 of the 30-20-30 and I already feel a bit better. I don't have audio hallucinations any more and I feel generally less out of it.

I love that all of a sudden everyone in the baclofen forum is having their threads rating go down. Hilarious someone would spend the time to do that.

Other than that, nothing new to report this fine day. No drinks today so far, but it isn't up to my drinking time yet.

dose, watch them head snaps, lest they happen while driving one of your fast cars. i was having that today (at 190 and fighting a cold) and was terrified of driving home (in my sporty impreza which goes plenty fast for me). i made it safe and sound, btw.

seemingly out of the blue, i am in the best shape of my life save when i was doing trapeze. and all i do is run a few times a week with two lb weights, and row with a crew, but not often, alas, as life got busy. it's wild. i can only attribute it to the bac. and, of course, losing the booze.

anyone here ever had persistent (persistAnt?) sweats at night? eee ghads. every single night i get myself all wet from sweat. (where's murph to ask if i'm sure it's just sweat, like he did when i expressed the same complaint months ago?)

                      glad you've checked in, dose.

                      xo rude (nice one!)

ps isolde's name just makes me think of tristan. my they were a lovely couple.

What's up, Rob? You Jaeger bombing? Sake bombing? Irish car bombing? Car bombing in Ireland? How'd your night go?

I used to sweat every night, and thought it had to do with bac. Turns out my apt. was just sweltering. I had to resist throwing in a story about a lady, as it would've appeared to be a Murph knockoff...sigh...

                          Seconding the exercise motion...again.

I also have a...theory...and its just a theory...that regular exercise may turn out to be a way to titrate down to a lower level and still remain indifferent...or, putting it another way, HDB may be the jolt necessary to re-tune the brain, but, once retuned, exercise may help alot in keeping the brain in balance.

Any reactions from "titrate downers"? Any who are exercising?

Dose, I've been getting those head snaps way too often at work lately (and once really badly while driving last week - THAT was scary!). I think mine are mostly due to not sleeping well enough at night, more so than the bac-induced somnolence (though there is some of that too). Xanax works REALLY well for helping me sleep, but only if I only take it every few nights. If I take it 2 nights in a row, it doesn't help much on the second night. I'll feel all nice and mellow, but I still toss and turn and wake up frequently.

I am still getting the night sweats, unfortunately. I initially thought it might just be too warm in the house, but even after dropping the temp down on the a/c, I still wake up sweating. It's incredibly annoying.

                              Hi all,

Nice going Rob, thanks for the details on titrating and on alcohol dosing. Jaeger is nasty ass stuff but I have been known to drink it when all else failed. In fact, I think I still have some in the back of the liquor cabinet along with the dregs of kahlua.

Is and Slip, I too have sweats lately, doing 50mg only on bac per day so unsure its due to that. I think its due to drinking more.

I wonder how high you have to dose bac before you get that amazing workout benefit, anyone have a clue?

                              Thx
