I am good man thanks for asking! Not a whole lot new to report, I am at 270 doing 90-80-90 and everything seems easier at a higher level than when I was in the lower 200s. Three doses works better for me now than 4. I still feel really tired, but mostly only after I have a dip of skoal tobacco. When I skip my usual dip, I feel just fine.
I have started having a shitload of nosebleeds though? I have no idea why, but everyday for the past week I have had a major nose bleed everyday, which usually involves having to immediately change my shirt and dunk the shirt I was wearing in cold water. I don't really care, but it is annoying.

Great to hear about the continued success on bac... Any thoughts of indifference?
That is really weird about the nosebleeds. Now you have to deal with people thinking you are a cokehead. I am sure it will go away. Keep us posted.Hit "the switch" at 190 mg/day on 11/10/11... Thanks to Dr. A, Dr. L, and all that have supported my journey on MWO!!:guitar1:

Is there a medico in the house? It's a rhetorical question because there are...loads. They just don't often like to identify themselves, sadly."My fault, my failure, is not in the passions I have, but in my lack of control of them." Jack Kerouac

Dose,
Sorry about kidding before. I thought about the blood pressure too. I know you go through Dr. L. You recently had the surgery so it had to have been okay then or it would have been addressed. Something post surgery may have spiked your blood pressure? Have you gone in for a follow up?
Take care of that.

I don't know about the blood pressure? I went through a number of BP readings when I was in the hospital and after I was out of pain from the stone they went down to slightly higher than my normal readings.
I haven't had a bloody nose today! Heh.. small victory! I am however, having horrible sleep problems again. In the past three days I haven't slept more than 3 hours and I feel like that bratty kid that needs a nap. Everything is annoying the piss out of me and I keep holding my tongue so I don't bite everyone's head off around me. I am not a happy camper!
I tried the cpap trick again which worked so well for me in the past with no dice. I fall so soundly asleep that my body forgets to continue breathing and I wake up gasping for air. The whole time the cpap is trying to full blast air down my throat but it ain't working. This is by far the worst side effect I have come across. I tried upping my dosage to 100-80-100 to get to 280 with no avail. I still cannot sleep and even went as far as getting a 0.25mg dosage of xanax from Dr. L. I am a little nervous though taking xanax, as I have been a bad boy with them before. I used to get the good ones, the 1mg ones, and like a good alcoholic I would take way too many. I actually gave the bottle to my friend and told him not to give me them, only to find myself begging him for one later on. This was in college though, so hopefully I have grown? HAHA... I laughed at myself.
Feeling a little bleak, but still refusing to give up. Hopefully my body will somehow adjust!
Dose -- I have given up trying to sign any other way!

I've stuck with my 100-80-100 and am feeling more indifferent to booze than before, but I still keep drinking out of habit? I don't know, for a few days I drank 3-4 beers a night (crazy low for me) and then last night I drank a good 15 drinks? I'll put my "indifferent" term away until I go a while without drinking.
I have been taking one or two xanax 0.25 mg tablets if I need help sleeping and they seem to work well.

Hey Dose, you might want to look into trying Seroquel (or the generic), that Redthread has mentioned here quite a few times. I believe she has a good source online to get it cheap, so you may want to shoot her a PM. I've got a doc appt. on Monday and I'm planning on asking about it. I rarely sleep more than 6 hours a night (and usually not that much). Nothing that usually works (xanax, klonopin) is helping now.
Hope you find a way to get some rest soon!
For what it's worth, baclofen (being the anti craving wonder that it is), should prevent you from wanting to abuse xanax. I've got plenty of stuff lying around that I could get fucked up on, but I just have no desire to do so!Better Living Through Chemistry
Switched at 180mgs of Baclofen on 1/31/11, and again on 10/8/11 at 200mgs.

Ok... well I am sitting here at 100-100-100 at 300mg and I am less inclined to drink. However, the sleepless side effect is horrible. I will ask Dr. L about something other than xanax as it is not doing anything for me. I will ask about the Seroquel. I just drove a few miles to pick up some over the counter sleep meds because 1mg of xanax wasn't doing a thing for me.

Ugh and aaaaaaaaaargh, Dose. I have very little recollection of how it felt to be on super-HDB (for me) but I remember well the sleeplessness. I did not find a solution from Dr. L. It was a long time ago, though, and he may have some tools in terms of meds that he is using now.
I didn't take any meds or supps other than benadryl when I was desperate. I wish I had just ordered some Seroquel, honestly. However, I got through it and I know you can, too. I DID use lots of seemingly trite tools for those sleepless hours. I "guarded my sleep" by keeping all distractions off and staying in bed. When this led to awful darkest-of-the-night thoughts I used some CBT and meditation tools I've picked up along the way to manage my thoughts. I counted my breaths. I actively, persistently, and obstinately thought good thoughts. I made mental lists of the things I was going to do *when* it was all over.
Then I started sleeping again. At first it was only for four or five hours, and they weren't consecutive, I don't think. (There were several of us in about the same place at that time. We all seemed to wake around 2am, I think? Regardless of where in the world we are!)
But I loved the extra time in the day! Still miss it!
It passes, just as all the SEs do.
I hit indifference at 340, I think. I was a mess. But then the deed was done and I went down and the result has been well worth that horrible period of time.
Hang in there!

I notice you don't mention the apnea...has that passed? If so, that's a positive development...
I'm also going to bug you about the exercise...
And, are you eating late in the evening...that's not good for sleep
And lastly, how much are you still drinking? You'll hit the switch sooner or later, but those jagers before bed will complicate things for sure...
I think you are actually getting there. Stay the course!

Thanks for all the input. Right now I am drinking 5 beers a night or so? And that is only because I feel that xanax + beer = sleep. I could probably quit drinking all together with a bit of willpower, but that sort of defeats the purpose of the baclofen in the first place. The worst part is that I am on vacation at my parent's house and so they are looking at me like I am crazy. I have tried to get my mother to take baclofen and after looking at me I am sure she is a bit ... "NO". Heh, it is all good though.
Cass: My sleep apnea has not passed. That is what is keeping me awake honestly. I will be so tired, so beat down and tired, but I cannot sleep. I sleep for a few seconds and my body will stop breathing. It just forgets to keep breathing while I snooze and so I wake up gasping for air within about 30 seconds. I took a few unisom and felt the effects, but it still didnt keep me from not breathing.
Oh and I did go to the gym! I lifted weights but I felt so tired that I didn't get in a very good workout.
This has been quite the journey.

Ok so I am at 100-100-100 still and feeling pretty good actually. I still have a crazy sleeping schedule and I don't think I could function if I were still working, but being that I took some time off work I feel just fine for being a zombie bum.
SE at 300mg:
Sleep apnea, "zombie" face, very relaxed feeling and alcohol is not really an issue.
I am still drinking, like tonight I had a shot and a beer at a bar with my brother in law and sister. Get this though, I drove! They got pretty drunk and I couldn't care less about drinking. This would have never happened without Baclofen. I still bought a 12 pack though for the night. I don't much feel like drinking it, but I don't know how I'll sleep without it and a bit of xanax.
Life is pretty good!
