    Baclofen is very, very cool!

Interesting that the experience with Baclofen has arisen elsewhere in relation to both drugs and alcohol and entirely by accident. Read on:

In addiction, suppression of symptoms should suppress the disease altogether since addiction is, as he observed, a "symptom-driven disease". Of all "anticraving medications used in animals, only one - baclofen - has the unique property of suppressing the motivation to consume cocaine, heroin, alcohol, nicotine and d-amphetamine"

It seems to be heating up. Not that this is very interesting but it shows that there are people out there taking this seriously:

In May 2011 a Scottish team from Glasgow presented: "Baclofen at a Tailored Dose Reduces Alcohol Use, Craving and Consequences of Drinking in Alcoholics with Medical Disease due to Alcohol Dependence" at the "Royal College of Pscychiatrists Faculty of Addictions Psychiatry Annual Meeting". They used doses between 15 and 360 mg of baclofen per day and winning the conference prize for the best poster raised the profile and increased interest in baclofen as anticraving drug.

I read this "Bac is cool"article. For some, maybe but not in most.I had a"cool" episode once with intense visual hallucination, dissociation and euphoria. It was one of strongest psychedelic effect I had. But I wised up and quit for awhile and now taking low does under strict supervision no plans on inreasing doses.Alcohol free for months despite some mild cravings.Stories like this on drug form and people trippig balls on bacs may make bacs scheduled maybe illegal.Be careful with bacs it is dangerous to overdose or withward from. Many get a lot of SE.Bacs need a lot of supervison.

Thanks Otter for the interesting link, I have read some stuff from that site over the years about various drug experiments. Many of them sound like they could be doctors/scientists, if they wanted to choose that as a career!

Sometimes I worry about recreational reports of baclofen effects, but be assured that on drugs-forum, they experiment with everything that can have any possible psychoactive effect. Nobody could ever read the whole site, and baclofen reports are only a tiny part of it. Luckily most don't find recreational baclofen use to be something they are inclined to keep on doing, and they presumably just move on to something else if they want to keep getting high.

I have had some cool-ish effects on even lowish doses of baclofen, such as reduced fear/anxiety and enhanced confidence, but not many can tolerate recreational use without titrating up slowly. A large dose I stupidly took once, without titrating up to it, made me sort of drunkish but also unable to sleep plus severe tinnitus, raised blood pressure, and I think increased heart rate from memory. I never tried that type of use again.

Thanks otter, I read the report and have read a few but not many reports on these drugs site, I asume that some of them are talking about fun drugs even tho they do seem to take the fun out of it a bit by being so serious, myself I didnt find to need to become a scientist to fuel my drug addiction I just went to the local dealer! Also I notice in this one they all kept on talking about someone called SWIM, maybe he is their leader, or maybe he doesnt exist and it is all a mass halucination, or maybe they are all channeling him through a spirit guide, whatever he didnt seem to say anything himself!

SWIM means "Someone Who Isn't Me." Tongue in cheek deniability. -tk
