Hey Boosted, welcome! I just want to say that I can fully relate to your problems with anxiety, social phobia, depression, and insomnia, as I have experienced all of these. Like you I found phenibut very effective, and was disappointed to read the stories about its alleged addictiveness and tolerance. I am not sure if this only happens when people abuse it, but baclofen pretty much works the same way anxiety-wise and does not have any record of compulsive abuse. Phenibut apparently has properties other than its GABA-B agonism.
You are definitely well advised to tackle this now, before becoming a serious alcoholic. Having part of your brain determined to get drunk no matter what you think or believe is a formidable problem, since you are fighting against yourself, not just against alcohol. This predicament is so easy to get into, but so hard to get out of. Many alcoholics never recover, unfortunately, which shows just how deadly this is. Spouses of alcoholics often put up with an amazing amount of frustration, but sooner or later many will leave and not come back. Kids can also come to hate alcoholic fathers, which happened with one of my friends.
Good luck with it!
