For me, I have times when I feel like drinking less, but I still drink the same amount at 60mg. I haven't really "switched" but I do feel the bac changing my personality a bit. I am less anxious and feel much more positive overall.

Baclofen for Marijuana Dependency...
Welcome Bobsd! Glad u decided to post with us. Never did do the pot thing... I knew in my heart that if I ever tried it.... I would love it and couldnt stop. Always had problems enough with ETOH. I have a husband with siezure disorder and I thought about trying pot for his siezures as we are having problems controlling them with meds. Dont want to give him an addiction to deal with on top of everything. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to see your baclofen journey.

And I still hold to my claim that it messes with anti-inflammatories too. I take 2 natural anti-inflammatory supplements which used to be REALLY helpful for a joint issue, but they haven't been working nearly as well since I started on bac. There are actually times I've been tempted to titrate down to nothing for awhile just so I can test the theory. But yeah, still not gonna happen.

Baclofen for Marijuana Dependency...
Day 3 is going well...My gf even noted that I was in a better mood than she has seen in a while. That is cool. Got the bac buzz again, but mixed with my constant ganja smoking, I can not tell which is which sometimes. I need to tell my gf that I am doing this... It has been tough, especially because I have been hiding my pot smoking for three months. Anyway, as far as SE's, I took a long nap, but that has something to do with a lazy Sunday as much as the bac. No other SE's to report. I have experienced some odd lights, but nothing this ex-tripper can't handle. Still hopeful!Hit "the switch" at 190 mg/day on 11/10/11... I will condense days 4 and 5 into one post, mostly due to the fact that I am still a forgetful stoner...
The most promising thing I have noticed is that I am taking more time between each ganja session. Did anyone else notice the "time between" increase as the days went by? I guess I never thought of marking progress that way.
I increased my dose yesterday (day 5) to 10 mg/day, taken 5 mg at 8 AM and 5 mg at 8 PM. There have been no noticeable negative side effects yet.
I am so glad for Lo0p's advice on changing my brand of baclofen to TEVA... Why not give myself the best chance to succeed?? I know this has probably been discussed before, but WHEN WILL A QUALITY TIME-RELEASE OPTION BECOME AVAILABLE?
Still hopeful, but now I must start dealing with all the shit I have been sweeping under the carpet for a long time. Stressful... I hope the increased doses of bac can help me better cope with all these emotions/pressures.Hit "the switch" at 190 mg/day on 11/10/11... Baclofen for Marijuana Dependency...
Day 6 is now over, and I am picking up my new Rx today... I have started to feel a bit more depressed than before, and I have begun to blame it on this bac. It is probably a combination of things (worrying if this will work, not yet telling my gf about my baclofen use).
I move up to 30 mg/day tomorrow (10/10/10), and this new bac from Teva will make me more confident in the increased dose. I figure it is early enough in the game that I can switch immediately to the new drug. I actually just went cold turkey with wellbutrin with no huge issues.
Haha a commercial for Passages Malibu just came on... $50,000/month!! I betcha they don't wanna see this drug go mainstream!!
Anyway, I am still hopeful through the depression. I am actually used to the depression, as it has followed me for most of my life, and it has been much worse.
Thanks for reading this. This thread has helped me enormously, and I hope to get to know everyone as my path continues!Hit "the switch" at 190 mg/day on 11/10/11... Thanks to Dr. A, Dr. L, and all that have supported my journey on MWO!!:guitar1:

I would just stick it out despite the depression. I think that a lot of substance abusers suffer depression naturally. You can address that in the future.
I have my fingers crossed that this works for you!

Hey Bob. I hope the depression starts to lift for you. Are you doing anything to try to counteract it such as exercise, hypnosis, any of that jazz?

Hey Guys,
Thanks for checking up on me... The depression is actually manifesting itself outwardly instead of the usual inwardly. I have been terrible to my gf lately. Nothing physical (NEVER!), but emotional abuse can be almost as hurtful, especially over an extended period. You are right, Rudy, I need to tell her about my MJ use! I have a feeling that she already knows.
So, as you can probably imagine, I did not end my first week well. I am starting to feel the effects of not relying on an antidepressant (It has been about 9 days off now). But then again, there are moments of amazing positivity. I had a moment yesterday where I felt like I was coming off MDMA. I actually started feeling the AC coming out of the vents like it was an arcade game. Kinda weird, but I can handle it and will enjoy it more so next time.Hit "the switch" at 190 mg/day on 11/10/11... Thanks to Dr. A, Dr. L, and all that have supported my journey on MWO!!:guitar1:

keep it up Bob and you could always let your GF know you are trying to do something about your problem -- I can't see how anyone would react negatively to that. Also, it helps me to remember that I am asking a lot from my body and mind to stop one substance and accept another so quickly. I think the machine gets used to what you feed it. We are trying to stop one fuel and at the same time substitute another.

Bob, I think it's pretty hard to totally hide our substance use from our closest people. If you suspect she knows something and is with you anyway, then I hope that means she might be your best supporter if she knows you're working on the problem. If you decide to let her in, I hope it goes well. I feel so fortuante to have my husband's support, and to be able to talk honestly and openly with him. I hope you are also that fortunate!
