Matt, why don't you call Dr Levin and get a script immediately? So as to avoid running out and withdrawal?

I called him and explained my situation. He didn't offer to help.

OK. That sucks. Where are you at? Still off the bac? How are you feeling? Is your supply coming soon?

I'm reading you only started bac in October or late September, is this correct? Maybe you won't have much withdrawal because you haven't been on it long. And I know you started at 80mg (sigh), but you wouldn't have been in the 200's for long, I would assume. This should help divert anything too serious. You might just feel anxious and like crap for a bit. I hope. Please let us know how you're faring.

And don't let yourself run out again. This is of utmost importance once you get to the high doses for longer periods of time. Maybe call Levin again, once you get yourself straightened out and get a script. He won't let you run out once you're on board. He absolutely won't.

Thanks for checking on me. Cold sweats and shivers are gone. I'm left with high anxiety and agitation. I took some Xanax but it didn't put a dent in it. I followed up with seroquel and that put me right out. I missed the delivery yesterday so I can pick it up tomorrow. I hope someone new learns from my idiot mistakes.

I have a supply now but I've decided to take a lower amount, 90mg a day broken up into 30mg every 6 hrs. (vs. I was up to 210mg a day at the peak). Its been a week and I am still waking up at night sweating and with numbness in arms or legs sometimes and bad anxiety. Is this normal? I'm terrified I've stopped breathing in my sleep or something...

Matt, call Dr. L back and make a proper appt. with him. Explain your life situation and maybe leave out the part where you decided to start high dose bac. on your own w/o doctor supervision, and I'm sure he will treat you, he is a wonderful man.

Seems to me from everything I have read you have a pretty serious addiction problem. This is why you over medicated yourself with bac. The bac will help you get over this addiction problem, but you need to do it the right way.

Good luck on your journey brother, don't give up the fight, just slow down and take it one step at a time.

EDIT: Matt, these side effects are normal reported SE's from many people, you just went up wayyyyyyyyyyyy to fast on your dosage, some people get insomnia and anxiety, others sleep better and have a lot less anxiety, like myself. I think you are experiencing these SE's because of how fast you went up and then came back down on the bac. neverless you will survive, just take it easy man.

I agree I need to be working with a Dr and stop posting on here for medical advice. For that I thank you.

However, I don't want to work with Dr L. I called him for help and he offered none. I don't want to work with him if I have to lie in order to obtain his care. As a Dr he should be willing to make recommendations and treat me not just send me away "good luck".

My PDoc initially was not willing to explore BAC treatment. After my last visit he said he would do some research. In the mean time I will just have to deal with it I guess.

I'm really glad you're okay, Hurricane. The name stands, btw. yowza. I understand why you might be a little put off about calling Dr. L, but you can also recommend that your pdoc call him. He has talked to doctors all over the world about protocols, etc... I think I also understand (perhaps) his reluctance. Though I must admit it surprised me and would have really pissed me off were I you. (That said, there are a number of us who would have fedexed you some, and I did offer...)

This is where I came for advice and support, so you don't have to worry about that. More often than not, even when there were a myriad of suggestions, I was able to steer the course to find the goal. I can't actually say what I would recommend in your situation. It's a tough call. Taking it regularly, and evenly, and not jumping around is always good advice. (one of the things I think we all agree on!)

The sweating, leg and arm thing, and breathing thing have all been reported, and I've experienced them all. I would suggest that tweaking the bac might be in order. But I don't know which way to suggest you to go! Did your anxiety and the SEs you were experiencing when you were withdrawing dissipate completely? And did you start right back at 90mg? I ask out of curiosity, and for the official record.

As I said, I'm really glad you're okay. Hang in there. It will level itself out. It always does. Really!

This is where I came for support and suggestions. No need to stop doing that, Hurricane. (You've for sure earned that name!)

Dr. L will also talk to your pdoc, should you decide you need that help. Also, there is a ton of legitimate information on the Consolidated Thread (in my signature) that you can print out for your doctor. Several people have found that to be effective.

Good luck with him/her and hang in there!
