So I decided to bite the bullet and get some antabuse. I have a prescription for campral sitting here but I want something I can absolutely not drink on and hopefully quit the back and fourth war inside my head everyday. Knowing I cannot drink would be a huge relief for me. However my addiction doc won't prescribe it to me. She prescribes Naltrexone(non tsm) and campral exclusively. So i decided to get some from one of the many online pharmacies out there, problem is I'm not familiar with getting medication this way at all. What are some of the more reputable ones out there? Many of them look shady. Also does anyone else get antabuse this way? Would love to hear where you get it from. I'd prefer to deal with one out of canada as well since i can have it overnight-ed and hopefully start Monday. I'm gonna give myself 3 alcohol free days before i start though since from what i've been reading the less alcohol you have in your system when you start the better. Hope to hear from some of you!:help!

I don't order online, and don't take antabuse... Sorry.
I can say that River Pharmacy is fine from what I've heard, but apparently they sell/share your info and you might get unsolicited email etc... There's a thread about ordering online, and though it's specifically about bac, you can use the info about the pharmacies to find one for the antabuse, I'd guess. You could also probably find a doc in your area to prescribe!?

Sorry I'm also not sure about ordering Antabuse online, but I wanted to let you know it definitely works to put an end to that huge battle that goes on in the mind about whether to drink or not drink. You simply know you cannot. I used it this way when I quit drinking about 20 months ago, and it helped a lot, but I was also using other medicines to reduce alcohol cravings at the same time.

I didn't keep taking Antabuse beyond a month or two, and stayed sober for 19 months, but then relapsed. I am now sober again, and using Antabuse to stay sober. Once again, it has put an end to the inner mental war, and lets me feel at ease knowing there is no point arguing with myself about whether to drink or not. Be aware that you cannot just stop taking it and immediately drink, either, as the effects can persist for a week or even longer. I see this as a bonus, not a problem.

Also, be assured that you will feel ROTTEN if you try to drink on top of this drug! You will definitely be unable to get any pleasure from alcohol, so it will be pointless to even try, but many alcoholics (this one included) do try it once only. You won't only be physically sick but also psychologically in hell basically. People have often ended up in hospital, or even dead, after drinking on Antabuse, so I would strongly advise you to feel terrified at the very idea of this!!

Thanks Neva Eva. I'll look into River Pharmacy and check out some other threads on the subject. A lot of people won't respond if the information is already posted somewhere else anyway! Yea I prob will find another doc through my insurance but finding a doc and getting an apt could take some time so I'd like to get a couple months worth of antabuse now to just jump start things

Thats great to hear greg as that's exactly what I need right now. I definitely have no intentions of drinking on it but my one concern is indirect contact with alcohol effecting me. I have to clean certain parts with for my job with Isopropyl alcohol and also am wondering if the fumes will trigger a reaction or if things like vinegar certain sauces etc would give me a reaction. Some people claim as long as they didn't drink they were fine others reacted to these kind of things.

River Pharmacy is legit, I've ordered from them before. Ithink I've also order Antabuse from Unitedpharmacies.com, you can check them out as well. Don't believe all that stuff about vinegar, etc being a problem. Only drinking alcohol will cause you a problem, just ask me and the others that have been stupid enough to try it.

I'm gonna give unitedpharmacies a serious look as they have something called ems courier delivery service which promises arrival in 3-7 business days.How long did it take for your order? River Pharmacy is out of india or something and have no express delivery and I'm just not willing to wait a really long time for a shipment at this point. That's good to here about the vinegar not causing any problems. I'm not really worried about the Isopropyl alcohol then either as it's not like i hover over it all day sniffing the fumes. Did you have any side effects from the antabuse? Excluding the ones brought out by drinking obviously.

No side effects whatsoever. I've heard it can cause drowsiness but I never experienced that.

Yes, if you use United's expedited delivery it comes very quickly, I don't recall exactly how many days.

Thanks a lotfor your help. I'm gonna see if I can find any legit pharmacies out of Canada that sell antabuse but if not I'm def gonna put the order through to united. Yeah i heard some people have a bit of drowsiness but it eventually goes away. I'm gonna be taking my medication at night time tho so i'm not too worried about that.
