has anyone had alcohol induced blackouts
mandz, alcohol induced blackouts are a bad sign. Parts of your brain are shutting down when that happens. It is a clear warning sign that alcohol is a problem for a person. I'm so glad I stopped playing with fire (AL) and I hope you do too. You've come to a great place to get help and support.

Who me? No! Well, okay, but probably less than 1000 times.
Haven't had one in two years though!:nutso: I take pride in my humility :nutso:

Blackouts are technically overdose. I was freaked out when I first realized that, and very grateful I never ended up in a coma or dead.
Nothing to mess with at all. So much so that I wanted to post 2X about it.

mandz, I'm really glad you found us here. One thing is for sure.....everyone here understands what you are going through. When I finally decided to stop drinking I couldn't imagine living WITH alcohol any more, and I also couldn't imagine living WITHOUT alcohol. So I understand how scared you must be.
Lots of people here have gotten alcohol out of the drivers seat of their lives. For me, I stopped drinking entirely. It seemed impossible at first, and there were setbacks along the way. It will probably be that way for you too. But I'll tell you what....if so many people here could stop, and I could stop, then I know you can stop too.
This meds thread is awesome for getting answers to questions you might have about your meds. There are also some other really great thread with other ideas that might help you deal with a variety of things that come up when we try to quit. Here is a thread I like for good ideas: https://www.mywayout.org/community/f1...box-27556.html
Keep coming here and keep posting. You really can end this madness.

mandz, I know this is scary but you are not alone. Lots of us (most of us) have done really horrible things and have really put ourselves and others at risk before we found our way out. You can get out too.
Are you seeing a counselor or doctor or anything?
