Oh wow my sweeties how good it is to hear form you both, I did drink the vodka, it didnt make me drunk but i didnt go out for more so thats good. I have taken my first topa so we will see how that goes.

I do wish we could have a proper group hug but I think Me, Bruun, Windy Play and Stuck in the middle, he might get frightened

Shit man, I think it was supposed to say "Thus the lion" meaning my avatar. And I am year of the Tiger (I am two cats in one!) and got a new cat yesterday so just threw that in like okay, more cats. And Kindle put in "toss" instead of "the" but I like it. Stop making sense, as the song says. Darn good advice.

Pardon me, I'm sniffing paint 24x7 today, got a painter doing my baseboards and its stinky paint. Between the travel this week and the paint fumes, I don't expect much from my postings.

Your reactions warmed me, I am thankful for the f-ed up Kindle because it gives us laughs! Thanks for the bday wishes.

Having gone pretty deep into a pot of coffee, my brain is working much closer to, well, at least to however well it usually works.

Happy Birthdays all around!

Windy: I always get the O'Briens mixed up, so I ducked into a bookstore to double-check and yes, I've read Leaving Las Vegas and now bits of Assault on Tony's. And thanks to that trip I picked up a used copy of Tim O'Brien's The Things They Carried, which I've been meaning to check out forever. And seriously congrats on the 5 months.

Bruun: Frisky at the bar? That's my kind of crazy. But I'm also an enabler so you probably shouldn't listen to me. I also just ate hotsauce-flavored Doritos for breakfast... so clearly not a person to say anything about anything.

Space: Keep on keeping on. Not going for more is a total win. A few nights ago I thought I'd trick myself with the homeless-guy sized whiskey bottle and found myself walking to the 2 AM liquor store in the wee hours for a grownup bottle... So look at the positives.

OK so this is starting to feel like a drive-by... but hey, group hugs! :blush:

Stuck, I feel like such a cliche as an alcoholic saying "Leaving Las Vegas" is one of my favorite books. But it is. Thing is, I think I like her story in the book more than I like his. The end of "Assault on Tony's" disturbed me. But it is interesting to finish the book and then go back and read what the last lines he wrote before killing himself were (his sister finished the book based on his notes). Cause I'm normal and healthy like that. I've never read "The Things They Carried." But, yeah, always kinda meant to. So lemme know how it is. And thanks for the congrats!

LOL Windy, no name for the young lady yet. Maybe we can get some suggestions here or votes? Here is her background: She was living stray in Bakersfield, probably dumped by her family because she's not really feral. She had kittens a couple of times we think, this last time my sister and I were aware and determined to rescue them. My sister's neighbor caught them and brought them with her to see her daughter, only 90 min from me so I picked them up, took care of them for a couple of weeks, with the help of my neighbors (when I traveled). Then I took them to the SPCA to get adopted out, so cute those kittens were! But the momma cat wouldn't pass the adoption test, she was too skittish and supposedly attacked the people cleaning out her cage. She was on the last resort list and they called to tell me, adopt her or she's going down. What could I do?

She's very sweet and very fierce at the same time. She's a funny looking tiny calico, all colors of brown and red and black and tan. She and my cat Fee met each other a couple of times and it was a hiss fest so she is the Foe of Fee. LOL The shelter named her Lola. So I could name her Fola!? Foe for short? Not sure I like that, kinda negative. Anyways, there you go. Benzene might be a little weird when I take her to the vet. If she was a boy I'd def call her Ben for short tho!

Hi all, its great your back now windy, Ive missed you when you whernt posting much, and now Im not posting all that much, feel crap again today, vodka again last night but today Im determined to cut way down but then already drank 2 big pint sized lagers. Oh stuck I did that last week, just got a few drinks and had them early then ended up goinbg to the all night petrol station for more at around 11.30 on some pretence of getting cigarettes or something.

I need to find the want inside of me to stop drinking again, Im getting sick of it, the sneaking around, the feeling like crap everyday and spending all my money on drink, thank god I managed to just keep it to 1/2 bottles of vodka and am not on a bender right now, I wanted a drink when I woke this morning I keep on thinking about taking an AB but dont get round to it somehow, I talk myself out of it, if I make it throught tonight without getting more to drink apart from the 2 cans I have there I will see if I can work myself up to taking one tommorrow.

Oh, Space. Maybe give yourself permission to do one more night of vodka, then 2 nights of lager, then an AB? Just something to decrease slower and not get you panicked about taking an AB. Are you taking topa? Can you add a little bac? Try to take a walk outside. Can you visit the cemetery with some flowers? Sorry if that sounds morbid. It just always seemed like a peaceful thing that you enjoyed doing. Whatever you do, don't beat up on yourself. You're fighting this hard, and I'm proud of you. We're all here for you, sweetheart.
Bruun, congrats on the new addition! You're a good person for taking her. I'm sure she and Fee will work things out. I don't really have any name suggestions. Maybe a variation on the name of an author or character from one of the books you've read recently? (Didn't that ho to lawyer lady have a silly name? Thought I looked through that book at Target.) Remember my parrot? He was named Eliot for T.S. Eliot, but over the years, he became Smelliot then just Smell. When he got very sick, I told the vet's office his name was Eliot, but they heard me talking to him and caught on. "Smell" started appearing on his paperwork. It was a very terrible time, but it was funny to hear very official updates on the medical condition of someone named Smell.
It was another brutal morning in our household. We're both trying to deal with the fact that I'm moving out of state at the end of August. BF was a drunken, belligerent mess last night. They were showing the apartment today with both of us there. We both freaked out after they left. I called him later, and he was sobbing uncontrollably...we're both in pretty bad shape.
My parents are coming into town today so we can drive to our home state Sunday night for my court date Monday for "retail fraud". Stuck, if you're reading, I've been trying to fix legal problems from different states too, including a revoked drivers license. It's no fun.
Wasn't trying to hijack your thread, Space. Just wanted to let you guys know what was up with me too.
