The Ad's do make a difference dont they. Today I have had my hair, nails and eyebrows/lashes done and got my sons suits, they look sooo cool. I am feeling a bit proud ofr myself and them right now.

Me, myself and getting sober
Good Space, and yes, the ADs do make quite a difference, I've tried to live without mine quite a few times but I really feel awful without them, feel like crying all the time, so I ask myself, do I really want to feel like that all the time? answer is NO! I have a really perfect relationship with Zoloft and plan to keep it that way. I will be thinking of you on Saturday, it will be a wonderful day, stressful yes, but lots of memories, be sure to make them good ones
Love,

I have used the word arsed in conversation three times today. All three times were met with silence...But I really enjoyed it. Why don't we say that here???
EDIT: I don't do fingernail things anymore, but I'm sure you're going to rock those heels. And THOSE... Nothing like a sassy pair of shoes to put a sass in your step! Wish you'd post a pic!

Bebe,
What do you mean by getting your eyebrows and lashes done? Did you get them tinted? Or did you do something else? I'm loving that you're getting all dolled up! I'm imagining you happy and shaking your arse on the dance floor. Please do a little dancing. But maybe not in those sexy stilettos you'll be wearing. :HThis Princess Saved Herself

Last time I had my hairs done, I had him dye my (very blonde) brows, too. And like RedH, I ended up really regretting the decision.
Day-glo orange eyebrows look much better on Ronald McDonald than on a Ne. Maybe if I'd put on my makeup differently?
Looking forward to hearing about the event, Space.

Dearest Space! I never stopped reading throughout my whole stupid move, but couldn't be arsed at the time to post.
My heart goes out to you. I think you came to the right conclusion regarding your daughter and her husband to be. As long as she knows what she's getting into, and it sounds like she does, then it's her decision. Best of luck to the both of them. RedHead's words on the subject were especially sweet.
I hate when people send us to talk sense into alcoholics/addicts. Like, "YOU know what to say to them." I don't! I don't have this shit figured out! Or when a good friend became involved in an abusive relationship. Everyone looked at me like I'd be able to explain it to them or talk some sense into her. Nope. I barely got out of my situation like that in one piece, and I have no wisdom to offer on the subject.
But, jeez, a regular wedding is stressful enough! I have to confess, with the BF's erratic behavior and his controlling lesbian moms, it does sound to me like the perfect premise for a trashy reality TV show.
I hope you're having fun with getting all dolled up! Sounds like it. I like the idea of practicing in the heels. You're brilliant! Just be sure to have some comfortable flats on hand for all that dancing you'll be doing!
I'll be back later to tell you guys about the move. It....sucked. Continues to suck, actually. But I'm getting through it! Now I gotta run cause I'm going to get my drivers license! All my legal stuff is taken care of (in this state, at least), I took the written test and the driving test (terrifying), and now I just need to get the actual license. I've been trying to get a license for a couple years now, so I'm very excited.
Love ya, Space! Keep your coiffed, tinted, painted head up!"Yet someday this will have an end

And in your face the literal eye
Trace little of your history,
Nor ever piece the tale entire
Of villages that had to burn
And playgrounds of the will destroyed
Before you could be safe from time
And gather in your brow and air
The stillness of antiquity."

So beyond excited for you, Windy! I am betting I'm not the only one who can identify with the driver's license issues, but they are especially poignant for me at the moment. And, yeah, that's it, really excited and happy for you.
And I think I've now definitely got a lil' crush on you, what with all the Leonard Cohen stuff. (And yes, I still remember that story about you walking down the hallway of your apartment building, which was serious LOLZ. )
And Space, I don't think it could possibly be said any better than Windy just said it, but yeah, keep that pretty head up, sister.
Love ya's!

The results are starting to come in. These were all read by friends at weddings:
Having a Coke with You by Frank O’Hara ? Mapping the Marvellous
This one read by a friend's brother at his sister's request: http://wings.buffalo.edu/epc/documents/obits/brainard
And this one I can't find online, but he read portions of these letters by Emily Dickinson: The Master Letters of Emily Dickinson - Emily Dickinson - Google Books
Will keep looking! Hugs!

Space! Get "The Prophet" by Gibran! Going to have it read at my wedding!
Here's links to "On Love" and "On Marriage".
Kahlil Gibran on Love
Kahlil Gibran on Marriage
I didn't look at Stuck's suggestions yet, maybe those are better. And, Stuck, yes, LC's the best. Glad you remembered that story! My new plan is to change my signature every few days to different poetry or lyrics that I think are relevant to what we're doing.
Currently in line at Secretary of State!! Woo hoo!"Yet someday this will have an end

Oooooooh, this one is good:
Prayer for a Marriage by Steve Scafidi | The Writer's Almanac with Garrison Keillor
And no, I have not had a chance to look at Windy's either. Man, so much great poetry. 1) I hope you find something that fits for you, your daughter, and her (near)future husband. 2) Thanks so much for giving us all the chance to share!
And speaking of sharing, this is just a great, fun poem for everybody, especially all of us who could use a few good mornings like this:
Goodtime Jesus by James Tate
Hope everyone's having a good one! I'm off to read some more and listen to LC!
