    Pain medication and bac?

I've got another one for you all. Neuropathy pain. Any suggestions for pain meds? There are some that are not good with bac. And I'd love to know what others have used. I'm not talking a headache. I'm talking numbness; pins and needles; sharp, stabbing pain. I would like to find something to just knock it out, even if that means it knocks the sufferer out. But it has to go with bac, obviously.
Also, I'm not real concerned about the "addictive" aspect of the med. She's indifferent. And on HDB. And suffering.

    Thanks, peeps.

I know that gabapentin / neurontin is utilized for nerve pain, but not pain like what you're describing. My brother has had pins-and-needles neuropathy after cancer treatment, and they had him on opiates (fentanyl patches). Can I ask -- is there a particular reason i.e. injury for the neuropathy?

I dont know what Neuropathy pain is, I take prescription strength co-codamol for headaches, neck and back pain and arthritis. Some days ot manages the pain and on bad days it takes the edge of it. My mum has been given tramadol for the pain she has, not sure what its called, but doesnt like it because it knocks her out.

Thanks, Sune and Space. It's alcoholic neuropathy. The nerves die. From what I gather it is really, really awful. Different than arthritis and other kinds of pain. Fascinating really, unless one happens to be suffering from it.
Neurontin/gabapentin looks to be a really good option. Except for all those pesky side effects and warnings and stuff. :H What's news, right?
Thanks for the input. I really appreciate it.

I was wondering if you were talking about alcoholic neuropathy. I don't know anything about trying to ease the pain of it, but have been witness to people suffering from it. The toll alcohol takes on us is so devastating.

I hope you are able to find good solutions for your friend.

Neuropathic pain is unique, so I believe they are often using Lyrica and Neurontin for treatment. Just as you folks indicated. The person's doctor will most likely be cautious with the opiates, i.e. fentanyl, but it's really determined on an individual basis. Does this person see a pain doc?
