Been on antabuse for about a week or so now and was wondering if I would be able to drink on a quarter dose of a 250mg pill. Which is about 62 grams or so. I plan on tapering up to the half of pill (125mg) next week which i know I cannot drink on so I was just wondering if I could have one more drinking night before I start on a more active dose of the drug.

can i drink on a dose of about 62grams of antabuse?
I had reactions from Antabuse after risking drinking on this low dose, 1/4 pill, and it took days to get it out of my system enough to have no reaction. Then again, perhaps I am more sensitive to the reaction than others. I am now on 1/2 per day as a stronger deterrent, to stop the very type of thoughts you are having about giving yourself permission to drink. I found myself doing that regularly when I only took Antabuse every few days, too. -

Antabuse has a very long half life so I would think the cumulative effects of even a small dose would make it very uncomfortable for you to drink.Comment
