Cost of Baclofen if having to same at a high dose for some time?

I've been lurking on these boards for about 4 years and wish I'd have started a program of some sorts a while a go. Anyway Naltrexone has always been the one I wanted to try as it just seems right to me, I sort of get it if you understand but Baclofen also has its merits to me.

I worked out dose v cost and am having trouble seeing how I could afford Baclofen if it takes me up into the 200+ dose range to hit my switch. If I'd to stay there for some time there is no way I could afford it as I'm out of work now. I know, a great time to start but not great financially. For talk sake, if I have to go 250mg, that's 100 pill bottle (Pacifen) ever 4 days. 65 pound/5000mg (3 bottles) I know to some they might say "but sure you'd drink that anyway".

I wouldn't spend that much on drink. I drink run of the mill beer, around 25 cans per week which I've gotten down since a year or two ago as I don't socialize as much, just my 5 cans every other night. I'd probably keep going but I can feel problems with my health (stomach hurts the day after especially if drinking 2-3 nights in a row.

Any input would be appreciated..

Hi tm, I think you are in UK so I just checked out the cost, 100x10mg pacifen tablets is ?13.18, Im not sure how much that would all work out as I dont do HDB.

?14.99 from United Pharmacies. That's ?80/500 tablets which I could deal to get the ball rolling with but if I was to stick at around 250mg to hit the switch and stay there it would become to costly for me as I'd a need a good supply at hand as that's at least a bottle every 4 days

That's why Naltrexone was my first choice when thinking things over.

Once a few years ago but gave up. Wish I'd have stuck with it now. If I'm gonna keep drinking I might as well try the Nal before hand. Who knows I could be indifferent to it now. First time I read about it was about 3 years ago.

I've cut down on my drinking quite a bit since I was younger. (35 now). I used to drink mad amounts but only 3-4 days a week. Now I drink most nights but its usually 5 cans (12 UK units) tops. 2 Alcohol free days a week.
