Abstract
The drug baclofen is a potential treatment for severe tinnitus, but its action in relieving tinnitus is not known. Baclofen is available as an approved drug only in racemic form with about equal content of the two enantiomers. In the present paper we show that L-baclofen causes a considerable (40.7%) suppression of the amplitude of the second peak in the click-evoked response from the cochlear nucleus. Bipolar recordings from the external nucleus of the inferior colliculus showed that L-baclofen caused a reduction in the amplitude of three or four distinct peaks in this response. D-Baclofen had no detectable effect on the response from the cochlear nucleus, and had only a slight effect on one component of the response from the external nucleus of the inferior colliculus. The demonstrated effect of L-baclofen on excitation in the ascending auditory pathway indicates that this drug may be a potential treatment for hyperactive auditory disorders such as tinnitus and hyperacusis.
(note: L-baclofen is the same as R-baclofen and makes up exactly 50% of the commercially available raceimic baclofen that is prescribed)
I've had occasional tinnitus for decades from playing loud rock music.... I also had strong auditory side effects during my titration including additional tinnitus, buzzing/bleeping/blooping, and then full on auditory hallucinations when I titrated much too fast (150mg to over 240mg in a day - I don't recommend it). Slow titration kept them to a minimum and they all eventually subsided. I don't even have baseline tinnitus unless I abuse my ears.
Interesting thing: when I listen to loud music nowadays (like at a concert), the acute post-show hearing loss/tinnitus that I get is very uncomfortable, annoying, and far removed from any feeling I've experienced pre-baclofen.
You might try magnesium. I used it to protect and heal my hearing when I realized that it was pretty far gone. Maybe it will have an effect, but I think it's a long shot.

Thanks, I did see that. But I am also seeing it's a legit SE too and I am getting it and never had anything close to it except maybe after a Van Halen concert. It's actually worse when it's quiet for me.
I do take magnesium but perhaps I could take a better quality.

Oh, it's a real side effect...and I agree that it's maddening when it's quiet everywhere but in between your ears. It should pass. -tk

oy vey. A treatment for tinnitus?
Do you know how I figured out what was happening to my eyes when I first started taking bac? I found a study that said baclofen was used for the treatment of nystagmus. Then I read about what nystagmus was (don't ask. It's an eye-muscle-thing. It sucked.) and it turns out THAT was exactly my experience!
Isolde had terrible tinnitus, too. I am pretty sure that she started a thread about it. I don't remember any specific solutions, but it may be on the thread. (You could google Isolde tinnitus and MWO, btw.)
As Tk said, it'll likely pass soon. What have you tried?
And btw, are you still dehydrated?
Edit: and bruised?

Thanks Ne, ya know my eyes do bug me sometimes. I am trying to stay hydrated. I am making sure I take the magnesium but I really have not seen to much for cures. I will have to lurk around some of the older threads. I go up to 220 today so should be interesting. It's not always horrible but not too good either. Darn insomnia again...
Bruised, not so much. I am a quick healer so I have that going for me.

I wish I could help you but mine is more related to the baclofen and I have not found any answers yet. I know there's a wealth of information on the internet related to it but I think you issue is a bit more related to a physical condition. Mine is related to side effects. Sorry.
