    Hi All,

    I am a little nervous about this Topomax. I ordered it this past Monday. The main thing is how much will the problem with spelling and forgetting happen? The weight loss does not scare me. I have to type all day every day

      I haven't had an issue with it at all - zero, nada. I have found it making me a little drowsy. If you're really worried about it, you might go ahead and order the Adrafinil too. That stuff peps me right up - gives me energy and seemed to be a stabilizing influence on my mood too. I looked it up, and sure enough, it does have some AD qualities. I love that stuff - already ordered more! This place got it to me in about two weeks and had the best price I found: Home - Biogenesis AntiAging

      I work with management-level attorneys at large law firms and companies all day, so I was worried too. I hope this helps!

        Topa side effects

        I will trade settings in meeting feeling a little drowsy to wondering if I was going to throw up on the table in front of everybody any day. Everybody is tired and overworked now a days ? they will overlook that ? but being hangover is getting harder to justify. I just drink more coffee.

          My doctor has me on 50 mg topa and it looks like many of you are on much more. I'm wondering if taking more might help my cravings more. Does anyone know what the average person is taking?

            Actually 50 mg works great for me with very little side effects. How are you with the cravings?

              My cravings could be better and I have no side effects. Maybe it's too early, only day 12. I will see what happens in the next week or two and maybe to up to 75mg. I would love to lose weight as well, but the absence of the AL calories should do that for me!

                I went up to 100 but got terrible mood swings so I went back down to 50. I helps a lot with the cravings but I am also taking the kudzu an LGlut. I've lost about 12 lbs in 4 weeks. I wasn't drinking before the Topa but was having terrible cravings so I'm not sure what the weight loss would be w/ the Topa and cutting out the AL at the same time. I'm sure huge. I really have no desire to eat.

                  I,m a 5ft 2 " female. I started the programme on 1st May 2008 weighing 62.5kg. Started Topo at 25mg and slowly made my way up the dose chart. The only supplement I couldnt get was Kudzu. I struggled for the 1st week with craving but thereafter seemed ok once I had broken the "habit. Side effects:- tingling of feet, extreme fatigue for the 1st 2 weeks (had to have afternoon sleep), hair loss. At 36 days of AF, drank wine and went back to square one. Found it a lot harder to abstain after that. That was June 6th. Had to up the Topo to 175mg - still had cravings. Up'd to 200mg the next week. Extreme fatigue again in the afternoons, will try exercising to counteract this. Have had 4 days of no cravings so that seems to be the correct dosage for me at the moment. But still the hair loss which worries me. Will it continue????? I am taking biotin and extra sellenium - does this work? Don't look like a complete idiot yet! Have also lost 4kg since starting the programme. Would like to continue on the Topo over my summer holiday but the hair loss is the only negative for me to date!!! Any comments on this from people who have been on it longer than the 12 weeks?

                      New here and have read every post with so much appreciation....still waiting on Topa from Aclepsa. Can go a day without AL but very edgy when I do. Hoping to take the edge off and to talk to some who it has helped. I'm really not up for the counseling, CDs and all.

                        My cravings weren't much better until 200 mg. of topa. I didn't have side effects, though, except drowsiness and weird-tasting Diet Coke.

                          TOPO VERSUS KUDZU

                          As I've had quite a bad reaction in terms of hair loss (and I seem to be about the only one so dont want to stress anyone!) I am considering of weaning myself off the Topo (reducing at 25mg per week from 200mg) and going onto Kudzu (presently not taking it)which everyone also raves about for craving. You cant get the correct Kudzu in my neck of the woods so will have to order it from the MWO which will take 3 to 4 weeks to get to me. Has anyone ever gone off the Topo and then onto Kudzu? Am worried about the cravings returning. ANY ADVICE GREATLY APPRECIATED

                            Time2, did you try the Biotin and/or Selenium? That's what's suggested for hair loss. A couple of people here have told me it worked for them when they had that issue as well.

                              I am wondering if anyone else is suffering from wicked heartburn from the Topa? I am on 50 mg per day, the only other side effects I am having is tingling in hands and feet, but I am having the worst heartburn of my life from morning to night, it is so bad I cannot eat at all. I'm sure it is from the Topa because it is the only thing that has changed in my diet. I think I am going to have to get off of it, too bad because it has really been helping with the craving. Is anyone else experiencing this??

                                It did seem like I was getting a lot more heartburn episodes for a while. Not sure if was the Topa or stress but they have subsided.
