Your best bet is to try and find a psychiatrist that specialises in addiction and get a prescription. Try exhausting this route before trying to buy it and self medicate. I got lucky and my psychiatrist happened to be a specialist in addiction even though i was there for anxiety. He was fine with me taking baclofen.
01-01-2014 - Indifference reached, success with high dose Baclofen 295mg.

That really depends on where you are in the world. The NHS apparently makes it hard to find a specialist who deals with addiction and is willing to prescribe baclofen. However, Dr. Chick is in...I can't remember where. Someone from the UK can pipe up. He sees patients and provides baclofen, and he will even talk to your physician (I guess a GP?) or psychiatrist so that they will continue to prescribe and you don't have to go directly through him.

If you're in the US, it really depends on what part. Psychiatrists in the larger metropolitan areas are often versed in baclofen treatment and willing to prescribe, at least up to 80mg/day. Some may go higher and a few actually use high-dose baclofen treatment.

If you can't find a psychiatrist you can order online. There are several sites to order from, and there are some threads around here discussing the best prices. I used to get mine from River Pharmacy. I don't think they're the cheapest, though I don't really know. I do know that they are very reliable. I've never had a problem with ordering online. It takes about 3 weeks, no matter where you order from, to get it shipped to the US. If you decide to go that route, I and others have lots of advice. The main one being order enough so you don't run out. The other important thing is that you follow the prescribing advice from the doctors research. We can post that for you if you like.

Hang in there, no matter what you decide.

Thanks for the guide, I am taking it to my GP who has intimated she may prescribe this for me through the NHS as "it seems to be working", which is nice

          Regards to all
