    Giving up....in a good way!

T, I don't think you're working today, so you don't get to see the end of the air and water show. Or maybe you and the little guy will come into the city for it.
Regardless, hope you're having a great weekend!
"Yet someday this will have an end
All choices made or choice resigned,
And in your face the literal eye
    Trace little of your history,
Nor ever piece the tale entire
Of villages that had to burn
And playgrounds of the will destroyed
Before you could be safe from time
And gather in your brow and air
    The stillness of antiquity."

      Giving up....in a good way!

Been a couple days without Taw here, how ya' doing sweetie?

I've nothing really to say either, though, just trying to jump back into conversations. It's already 10 there, but hopefully you are getting down to watch the Air & Water Show.

I remember (vaguely) back in early June, when the LA Kings won the Stanley Cup, I woke up kinda late and unmotivated to do anything that day. So I just sat around doing pretty much nothing. That was the day of the Kings parade, and it was only a 20 minute bus ride away. Regrets. Small ones, sure, but getting out of the house and doing something is almost always the correct answer.

Hope you're good, Taw! Sending some love your way.

        Giving up....in a good way!

        Morning!

No, no Air & Water show today....another baseball game! Doing laundry so he has a clean uniform since we had a game yesterday too! Then had a lovely, yummy dinner at a friends house last night. The boys played, we got to talk. And all of this sober! Still amazaes me sometimes that I can actually perform simple tasks such as those without drinking! Would have been unheard of not too far back. Yes, I am ashamed to admit I showed up to many baseball games having had a glass or 2 before! Or with a road soda in my coffee cup! UGH!!! But for now, that is not an option!!

So, game today, then shopping for school supplies. Hopefully I won't have to fight with too many mom's to get the last of the supplies...we are a bit late in doing this! But, it is a good thing I have pointy elbows!!

Thanks all for checking in!! Hope you all have a great Sunday!!

That's fantastic. It's so cool when you find you can do things like that and enjoy them while staying sober. It's a huge step.:l

            Giving up....in a good way!

            Morning all!

I thought I'd post it here but I plan to visit other threads today or tomorrow. I feel like an arsehole that I don't post more often when I'm reading so many of them. I swear it's a time issue, but I feel like an arsehole when I say that too. I know many of you have full plates and a lack of time, but somehow you seem to be able to post. My daughter has started preschool. She goes to school Mon, Weds, and Fri from 8-3, so for the first time in nearly 10 years, I'll have no kids at home during the day three days a week. Talk about some Redhead time. Hell Yeah!! I need some me time.

Ne, I loved that Bitches thing you posted. I hope you're hanging tight in the 3D world and getting shit done yourself.

Taw, that is so great. It's wonderful when we don't isolate ourselves, isn't it? :l

I plan to come back later and chime in some places. Even if you don't want me to.

Hi Taw you are sounding good nowadays, Im so impressed the way you get your sons to go to baseball so much, my son has pretty well just sat at his computer all summer. When he goes back to school he has been asked to join the rugby team so Im telling him he is going to have to, even if I have to blsckmail him.

Just in case you Americans dont know rugby is the game you copied, then watered down and call it football. Here we dont have protective armour and we have a scrum, because we have real men here who arent scared of getting hurt, its just a shame Ive never met one

I am impressed with you redhead that you know what an arse is, and dont think its a little donkey

I read everything you write, Bebe. I'm starting to understand your lingo. Some examples include: I can't be arsed (although I'm not sure how that relates), he's such an arse, I've got to get my arse out of bed, and he had a fine arse. :H There's no way that stuff has to do with little donkeys. I'm not daft, you know. I won't comment on the rugby statement, but I'm surprised nobody else did. I've said this before and I'll say it again. I think hockey is the sport for the realest men.

How's it going today Taw? You have sounded good lately. Is it the weather? Can't you just feel fall coming? It's the not drinking too, I'm sure. Today I'm making some tasty comfort food in my crockpot for dinner. I love my crockpot during winter and fall. I was wondering if you had one, or ever thought to use one? It would be perfect for you since you work full-time. You could throw everything in when you get up and have food ready for dinner when you get home from work and baseball. They even have seasoning packets to make it easier.

I forgot to tell you guys, there was a murder in my neighborhood the other day. It was really crazy because there were police everywhere. I knew something was going on, but had no idea what. Later, I got a call from the school telling me they had been on lockdown, and now everything was ok and the boys would be dismissed on time. I googled my town's news and there I read the story, and that it was in MY neighborhood. It was shocking. Especially because the perp was on the run for a good three hours around here, and they considered him armed and dangerous. I don't live in a neighborhood where you'd expect anything like that to happen. It is very quiet. It's so quiet, some of my neighbors complain that there's never anything going on. But as I explained to my boys later that day, bad people can live anywhere. Which is why we never talk to strangers. It brought all of my talks home (literally).

Hope ya'll are having a good day. I know I am without any kids around.

So am I :H The word arse has so many meanings, the English language is complex and wonderful. The murder sounds scary and shocking since you live in a quiet neighbourhood. I used to live in a very rough inner city place where I grew up and there was a drug dealer shot dear about 10 yeards from my house at 5.30pm when my kids where playing out there, that was terrifying, I was in the house and heard the 7 gunshots and ran out looking for my daughter and son, I found her straight away as she had the sense to run away but couldnt find my son for probably only around 4 minutes but they where long minutes. The guy, who I knew was lying on the ground with a gun next to him. The whole area was surounded by armed police and I had one posted outside my house. It was bizarre because our normal police arent armed and their I was with a guy all suited up with a kalashnikof (sp?) sitting on my garden wall. Another guy was killed elsewhere and dumped in our street. I started to get used to it, thats why I moved miles away because I didnt want my kids growing up with that culture where that is normal. Where I live now is pretty quite and I like that, but yes, theres nothing going on OMG Im talking about myself AGAIN, I need to stop, I have more stuff to say but I will take it to my thread later.

Oh sorry taw for going on on your thread but sending you all :l's and

I dated a Rugby player and was always worried he'd cauliflower his ears but lucky me, not a one. Hockey is for hooligans, Red. Surprised you don't know that, since you apparently live in a hooligan-filled 'hood.

Was going to say more but I can't be assed. Take THAT you limeys!
