COSGringo;1371547 wrote: I might. It just seems odd. Is no one else chiming in on this?
I can see this person has been on before and has bad blood with someone. It may be legit but this person has nothing to add.
I noticed another screen name with some obvious ties to the same person and yet another that seems to be related.
There's another forum I am on where they let a lot go but would never let this fly. It'a big reason I have not been on here much.
There's a lot I can weigh in on as far as bac and such but it's so petty here anymore...
Zen, you are not banned because you are a "one off" and a genuine "good egg".BACLOFENISTA

In addiction, suppression of symptoms should suppress the disease altogether since addiction is, as he observed, a "symptom-driven disease". Of all "anticraving medications used in animals, only one - baclofen - has the unique property of suppressing the motivation to consume cocaine, heroin, alcohol, nicotine and d-amphetamine"

Thanks all.
And cash I have no beef with you so I 'm not sure what you are referring to on the meds. I probably agree with whatever you might have said. I am on too many of them that's for sure.
I really don't have any beef with anyone except people that simply want to annoy folks for some juvenile kicks.

COSGringo;1371538 wrote: I am not talking about folks that come on and have issues.
I am referring to people that come on have little to no posts and start trouble.
There are a few of us that see them and they are ones that sometimes get the boot but get a screen name and are back.
I am on other forums and I will see a mod chime in now and then. I am not sure one exists here except a couple folks that take it upon themselves to give others a hard time when they get a conflicting opinion.
Ever here of a lurker? Someone who jumps on and starts trouble. No real comments except to piss people off. We have one that is doing it under multiple screen names now.
I don't like a police state but this is ridiculous.
Good luck, God bless, and time to change the channel I guess..
There are a few ways to ban someone. One: by length of time options range from an hour to a "perma" ban. Even if a person has been banned for say a week, they can be unbanned at any time. All posts will still appear, but user will show up "banned" and unable to post.
There is also a delete member option. The members screen is deleted as though it never existed along with ALL of his/her posts.
When someone gets banned you can also ban there IP address, and/or the subnet, so its not just as easy as changing your screename.
If the mods/admins wanted someone gone bad enough, it could very well be done.
Not saying there arent ways "around" getting back on here, but it just might not be worth the hassle to trolls.
One thing I do know, if people dont "feed" the trolls, they will go elsewhere looking LOLLiving on Planet Sober since 05/02/11

Cos you have been here a long time as have I. In the beginning MWO was started by Roberta Jewell. She started this much needed website for people who were struggling with 12 step programs. Roberta studied research on drinking issues for a very long time and then decided to share with us the findings of her research which she tried herself.. She worked very hard at it, but there came a point when she asked for small donations "to keep the lights on". She then welcomed River pharmacy who carried her recommended meds and managed to eke out a salary from that and her own her productsr products which are very reasonable. But no fortune was made it was created as an alternative to 12 step program. and she with and she started with a DR who was initially a contributor.
She never did this for financial gain and we are not a social country so I don'tknow if any grants were received. I was out of line years ago while drinking and I got a lovely not from her, not even a reprimand. Her tech at the time was Code Monkey. And as the membership ballooned it took a life on itself with the most experienced helping out newbies, like a family where older siblings take care of the younger one . There was one member who accused her often of doing it for the money That person is still a member. Iit was not just a lovely selfless gesture and whose of us who were lucky enough to communicate with her, it was like walking on air
While we come here and appreciate this site it is basically for free except for subscribers and we shouldn't take it for granted. It's a wonderful gift and lives have been saved, turned around a life-long friendships have occurred. $10.00/mo is the best return on investment that I've ever exerienced and I love my friends here and the support i HAVE HAD has been incredible and the friends I have will be forever.
The donations weren't forthcoming so she decided on a subscriber's thread for those people who's my way out was working for them and she didn't want to shut it down.Enlightened by MWO

Those that do jump in (if they are moderators) seem to have agendas. There's a lot of creeps jumping around in here.
Do we just ignore them?
Shoot, zap me. I just don't understand this lack of oversight.
Anyone else feel this way?
I liked this forum but it's like anything goes except when you offend a couple folks and then there are some that are out of control and don't get kicked?
I don't get it?...

Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
You been out ridin' fences for so long now
Oh, you're a hard one
I know that you got your reasons
These things that are pleasin' you
Can hurt you somehow
Don't you draw the queen of diamonds, boy
She'll beat you if she's able
You know the queen of hearts is always your best bet

You know what, COS?
I agree and can't believe what we have to put up with in meds. It's unreal.
As to RJ and her input, she sold this to a For Profit company a looooooong time ago. My understanding (from the moderators themselves) is that the moderators are volunteers. But this website is set up to make money, make no mistake about that. And it's no longer a function of the goodness of someone's heart hoping that we make our way out.
It's a jungle out there and in here.
I am not a big fan of rules, in general, but I believe that general guidelines should be adhered to, that common courtesy and compassion outrank all.
That baclofan/desperados are the same person, and have another username as well, and that the ENTIRE purpose of most of the posts is to make other people feel badly, to sow discord and unrest, is reason enough for those posts to be erased, and the person to be severely admonished. I KNOW for fact that many of these posts have been flagged by many people, and yet THE MODERATORS DO NOTHING.
I also think, baclofan/desperados that you are still stuck. Mired in anger and hatred because you're mired in booze. When you are ready, able and willing to get free, you'll find I am not the enemy. The enemy is what you are putting in your body night after night. I hope you can find a way to deal with that. Asking for help is a really good start. But you won't be able to do that until you stop being such a miserable cuss.
And in the meantime, I really, REALLY don't care what you post. But keep in mind that what you post may keep other people sick. How's that for karma? I can't imagine what it's like to live in your headspace.
