    Xadrian's Baclofen Experience

Hey, no worries Ne. I'm not offended or upset at all. Not about the lice or my friend. I really felt you had a valid point. I also didn't go into a ton of detail about what she's facing. The chemo is so aggressive, they warn her that her platelets and WBC might drop too low to maintain the therapy. Add to that, she will lose all of her hair, be vomiting, suffer extreme fatigue and whatever else. But that's what she's got to do to hopefully survive. It makes my heart hurt.

I'm sorry you're in a weird place right now. :l Things are difficult for me too. I'm just trying to visualize what's at least good in my life. My kids and I are pretty healthy.

Again another example of how big pharma is trying to control the medicine market.

It seems there are plants that have stronger anti-cancer properties than all of the existing medicines. But you cannot get patent on a plant unless you genetically modified it.
And if you can not make a synthetic version of the anti-cancer compound, then there is nothing to gain.
They rather gain from patented medicines than provide the people with cheap to produce plant compounds over 100 times more potent.

I hope your friend will be ok. The feeling of impotence sucks.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

        Xadrian's Baclofen Experience

Being at 70 mgs yesterday, I managed to work the whole day instead of the morning only, without much problems.

I did not have the "baclofen dip" that I used to get around 2PM and I felt a little fitter overall.
I even watched TV till midnight, while normally I fell asleep in front of it around 10:30

Today I will be at 60 mgs and I decided to stay at that dose for the time being because I don't want to go below my previous maintenance dose as yet.

So far no noticeable negative baclofen withdrawal symptoms, except I woke up at 3 and couldn't get back to sleep for a while.
But nothing regarding seizures, anxiety, etc. so far.

I will wait a few days for my final conclusion of the effects of the sudden tapering of 60 mgs in 5 days.

Let's see what this Friday the 13th will bring.

Glad you're feeling good, X. And getting work done - that's inspiring! Well inspiring me to turn off the internet and get to work, too, anyway. Happy Fri. 13th, all.

Good to hear things are going pretty smooth overall, X. Have you felt alcohol cravings present, or stronger than before? What's the status on that?

              Hi Skull,

Yesterday I tried 1 beer and it tasted disgusting.

So far no cravings or thoughts about drinking.

I will remain on 60 mgs for the time being.
No scary baclofen withdrawal symptoms so far.

Wow, that rocks. Happy for you X, I hope that I have a similar reaction of disgust next time I try a beer, which I suspect I will try sometime later this summer.

                Hope you're well!

                  Xadrian's Baclofen Experience

Being at 60 mgs for 4 days now, I can say that for me it was a smooth ride down from 120 to 60 in 5 days. I expected to have at least some weird thoughts or ugly baclofen withdrawal symptoms, but fortunately none of it all.

The extreme tired feeling I had lately, is practically gone. However, the day before yesterday I went to bed past midnight and yesterday evening at 10:30
But it still is a big difference.

The fact that the tiredness is gone, lifted my mood a bit and that's a welcome effect.
I hope the 60 mgs will prove to be sufficient as a maintenance dose.

Although for me the fast drop appeared to be safe and without withdrawal symptoms, I can not tell what would have happened if I had gone down to 0 in the same pace.
I want to make clear that my results may not be typical and that different people could expect different experiences.

So if anyone wants or has to taper down fast, stay aware of weird thoughts and major withdrawal effects.

                        Hi all,

Just wanted you to know that I'm okay.
Our baby is already 5 months old, I'm busy finishing our new house and the business goes fine.

Still having an awful lot of stress.

I'm currently on 50 mgs of baclofen, which is too low. I'm drinking in the weekends. I'm planning to go up in the near future, but haven't done so far, because I currently can't use the afternoon dip I get from higher doses.

Regarding posting: I just became indifferent to posting, I guess....
