    Video Documentary BAC + Ameisen

I just join the group after spending hours reading all threads about BACL...
I'm an alcoholic trying in several ways to have his life back!!!

Lot of useful experience and encouragement words here... about the subject that "we are not CONDAMNED forever" to die by our alchool disease... but that there can be a solution...

Months ago i saw a good and long documentary about the Baclofene and DR Ameisen, maybe on a French TV (but not sure) where they report real cases and interviews with people in treatment with bac, and a lot of talking/interview even from Dr A himself...

I simply cannot find it anymore... so my post.
I remember, just as suggestion for an help to find it again... a fat guy standing on his couch with a beer but saying that was the first and maybe the last of the day... the interview with DR A was filmed in an outside place, with a big panorama behind (maybe paris with seine...)...

Someone can hel me to find it?
It was really really a good one!
Thanks for help and sorry if i did not introduce myself so much... i will post my experience soon.
Wait for an aswer for this great community!
    Thanks

          Totally agree Warnie...
The pills are not the cure but if BAC it works without too many secondary effects...
maybe can just help to make turn the spiral on the good way (not to the hel... down..one ;-)

I know there is a big work to do after stopping drinking but if this pill really arrive to kill the craving moments... why not to try it!!!

I'm still drinking (even right now) but i'm really interested to give a try to baclofene...
I'm reading all i can, and watching every vid i can about the subject.

I would like to have a chance. I would like to have an alternative to this terrible scary words "you have to stop NOW and you don't have to drink ANYMORE in ALL your life!"
I like AA, i was there and groups are great and really helping, but was not enough for me....

I'll keep posting if i start to take bac.. and i'll try to keep update this thread with docs ond video about the subject...

Here one more. Really interesting too, from DR Am... (sorry but even this its in French language).
1h 20min of explication and talking about bac...

          Thanks everybody.
I'm still waiting for my first 24h sober.
I know (hope) they will come soon....

            Hi, emc! And welcome!

The pills (baclofen) were my way out. Taking them has meant absolute and total freedom and control for both me and my husband. Not that Warnie's wrong, exactly. But baclofen was definitely our cure. I've done a lot of other work just to make sure I stay sober, and happy about it, too. (Therapy, exercise, taking general care of myself etc) But my husband just took the baclofen and he is also sober and happy about it. I hope it works that way for you!

I really appreciate you posting the videos. I sorely wish I spoke French. (Or for that matter, any additional language!) But I'm American...We tend to limit ourselves in that regard, as the entire rest of the world likes to remind us. :H

I'm waiting for your first 24 hours sober, too! Yay!

Did you know there is a French forum? It used to be very active. There is also a link to a protocol, in French, and the translation for the rest of us. You can find it here: https://www.mywayout.org/community/f2...ht=don+quixote

Hope you continue to check in!

              Hi Ne/Neva Eva,
thanks a lot for encouragement... my sober times (again) i imagine are not too far... (i hope so...).
Thanks too for posting your personal experience with pills, but you talk about bac or something else?

I've tried some other pill treatment before (mainly just anxiolitic) and they did work a little, but with so many depressive side effect that, right now, i just use them to calm down the shaking in the mornings when i decide to don't drink...

I will continue to post my experience here... it's sure...
I wanna share my thought and experience and listen to the other's experiences as well...
              at soon ;-)

To be very clear, I was talking about baclofen! And only baclofen. I'm going to edit my previous post so it's not so confusing. Sorry!

The anxiolytics help as needed, of course, but they don't do what baclofen does! (Obviously!)

                Glad you're here!
