It's just going to be a single page so far, basically the consolidated information thread.

This is what I need: could everyone please email me at Lo0p@PhoenixResearchLabs.com the links to what studies and publications need to be added since I last updated it (a long time ago).


I'll edit them in to the consolidated thread and then turn it into the webpage.

One problem: I do not know how to make a webpage. If I can't figure it out with Cinder's tool:

I need your help

I get nearly all of my baclofen information from PubMed (just google it but I'm sure you know that).
At the opening window, search for the (baclofen alcohol patient). This seems to select all papers in reverse chronological order containing all 3 of the listed keywords. I put patient in the list to avoid all the animal studies. These are interesting from a historical perspective because they provided the first strong indication that baclofen might be effective for alcohol problems.

This narrows the search down to 95 papers. Since the publication of the "de Beaurepaire R" paper I no longer look further down the list. This is the first large scale study detailing the results of a 2 year exposure of alcoholics to baclofen. With the most pessimistic view possible, 50 patients at low risk after 2 years exposure out of the original sample of 132 (including the 32 who stopped during the first three months) still yields a 37% success rate. This is so staggeringly better than anything published up to now and staggeringly better than any other alcohol treatment that any doctor reading the paper will immediately consider baclofen as the preferred default first treatment method for alcoholism.

At the risk of sounding like an advertiser, this paper and its list of references has done most of your job for you.

If that were not enough, the paper also outlines a number of ways that will only improve the treatment result.

[EDIT] Suppression of Alcohol Dependence Using Baclofen: A 2-Year Observational Study of 100 Patients is maintained by a very reliable organisation and could be the preferred source of the paper.

I'm just starting to delve into baclofen and work that has been done around opiate, suboxone, methadone, etc. Also, there are some studies re food addiction and autism - which is something my brain lit up about from the very beginning - that I have come across. I'll assume you want all published info re all addictions, unless you inform me differently. But not to panic . . . I'm just starting this project, and don't have much time for some time.

I have had good luck contacting the doctors and getting information. I'm not sure how they would respond to the suggestion that it be posted for the Whole Wide World, but who knows? Addolorato probably would.

A hard copy can be scanned, and I can get them through school. But it would simply be the same thing as before, and there's the infringement issue, isn't there?
