One Quart has OCD as well as NPD.

LL, the "studies" I referred to show that baclofen "helps" (my word) over 80% of people, like it helped you. I have not claimed they cured anyone. We have had this debate a few years ago. I am aware that the studies have been criticized and don't meet the standard required to allow baclofen to be licenced.

We are going round in circles because someone has come here and is trying to lecture people who have used baclofen as a tool in their fight against this disease, know all the arguments he is making, have studied the field exhaustively and have come to the conclusion that the science behind the discovery made by Olivier Ameisen is correct. The NIH, French government and many doctors are now accepting that as well but we have to be subjected to this guys rants and swearing because he has a right to be a know it all idiot and see his insults in writing.

So this guy has NPD, OCD, maybe even MPD, lol. A little skepticism is certainly a good thing. You scientists know that. That said, I completely disagree based on my experiment of one. I simply have no craving whatsoever for alcohol and I used to be hopeless. Baclofen scares the crap out of me still though. For example showing up at the emergency room after a bad car accident. Who is going to figure out and deal with the fact some of us are on 3-400mg or maybe more? Not to mention the panic attacks I just had trying to reduce dose.

Both outcomes still don't proof that it works for most people or it doesn't work for most people.

Regardless of the scientific proof, I think we can honestly say that it works for some people, but not for all.
We have to wait for scientific results to see for the percentage of people it works for and the percentage it does'nt work for and, also important, why it does for some and why not for others.

Another thing. It may be unscientific, but common sense tells me psychiatric comorbidities are more of the rule than the exception with severe alcoholism. The number is probably higher amongst those willing to treat themselves with extreme doses of a drug with known dangerous withdrawal. Finally, it is all over the internet that the drug has recreational abuse potential, so why are we pretending that is ridiculous?

Compare it to nutmeg. It is commonly used to spice food, but it has recreational abuse potential.
How many people do you know that use nutmeg for recreational purpose?

Why? Because it is not really suitable for recreational use. The effects will be disappointing when used for recreational use.

Same with baclofen.
