    Baclofen days

    Ditto, Daevid. Bully for you!!!

It's so important, I think, to note the changes. For all of us who have "been there," it's a freakin' miracle to not go for that last drink, eh? Onward!!!

      Baclofen days

Girlfriend arranged for me to call and cook a meal tonight, she didn't answer the the door or answer phone despite repeated attempts. 6 hours later, she rings, crying to say she was sleeping. It is by no means the first time she has fucked up or cancelled arrangements. She takes too many benzos and smokes too much grass. This shit goes back decades and daughters are also sick of it. Excuse me, for asking her to reflect on how her behaviour affects others. Or am I the pot, calling the kettle "black"? Bought ?30 of groceries now sitting in my fridge.

I dunno', Daev-o. Have the circumstances ever been the other direction? Has your drinking ever changed her plans?

Whether so, or no may not be the most important question, though. I'm sympathetic about dashed hopes. Disappointment sucks. I'm reminded of a what a friend of mine told me from his NA sponsor. I'm not in the program now, but I did AA for a while, was sober on my own a couple of years, relapsed and found bac. Anyway, his sponsor told him, "Stress is the difference between your expectations and what happens."

So I'm much more interested in how you're doin' on your own way out. And if getting a little relief is giving you a different perspective. I'm sure you understand that the best thing you can do for yourself AND your girlfriend is to come out from under the lash of alcohol . . . or any intoxicant. Ever heard about HALT? Addictive behavior gets triggered by being Hungry, Angry, Lonely or Tired. So why not cook up a nice meal for yourself and get a good night's sleep. With all of those groceries, you can do it 2 nights in a row . All the best to you.

Thank you Raed Thraed. I appreciate that my lashed up days didn't put me in high regard.

Today I had a repeat prescription from Onlinepharmacy.biz.

          Cost for 400 tablets - ?48.98

          VAT - ?9.97

Royal Mail handling charge - ?8.00

          What a fucking racket!

Hah. Well it's been an interesting week on metronidazole, so alcohol free. No withdrawals and I can't help thinking my drinking is purely my own choice. Taking 50 mg baclofen daily still. Im being very careful increasing the bac because I don't want to fall asleep at work and lose my job; or fall asleep at the wheel and lose my life. Craving alcohol now because the metronidazole has finished (they recommend 48 hours lapse before drinking alcohol, and yes I've heard the horror stories). Don't know wether to shit or wind my wristwatch!
