Just started on week last on Bac

I am up to 75 mg after a week, I plan on upping to next level (100mg)in four days, no SE so far so good.

I met with my GP (primary care physician) yesterday and brought up bac, he wouldn't prescribe bac, he said for me to call the # on the back of my insurance card for the substance abuse hotline. Which I don't want to do. I am getting bac oversees now. The doctor said I'm a tough case because I am a functional alcoholic and it's almost easier to treat the diehard cases, I really don't want to check into a rehab program (have kids work ..etc), I also spoke to a friend who is a GP who said the same thing.

Is it worth to try to get a prescription from Dr L? From what I hear it's also a huge hassle, but it would be a relief to have a guaranteed supply.

The prescription process from Dr. L isn't *that* bad. I had some issues with the pharmacist, but a five minute phone call with Dr. L sorted everything out. Picked up a ton of baclofen for $7.00 today. Give him a call on his home number, and he'll explain everything in detail. I've only been working with him a week, but so far he's been more thorough and compassionate than the psychiatrist I've been seeing for years.
