Does this medication make you ill when you drink? I know it's supposed to help you with craving, was taking anatabuse last year and it worked because I was too scared to get ill drinking on it...from what I understood it makes you ill and helps with craving. I would like to know if it has an ill effect if used with drinking (haven't tried-don't plan to-just a question?

Hi Deilight I have taken Campral in the past and no it doesnt make you ill when you drink, its nothing like antabuse it is supposed to help cut down craving and so cut down your drinking that way.

No, Campral does not make you ill when you drink.

You could consider Antabuse and Campral as an adjunct??

Campral did not do anything for me except give me diarrhea.

But, Campral does help some with the cravings.

Thanks for the feedback...

I found I felt very depressed-I take an antidepressant and a mood stabiliser and it seemed to react badly. I have stopped today and feel better. My craving isn't bad so I think I'll just get antabuse for back up for when I feel like drinking...
