    Dr. L contact protocol?

    Hi,

Please pardon me if this info is readily available with a simple search. I thought I might save time and ask first.

For initially contacting Dr. Levin, does one call the Northwestern phone number? Or are there other numbers to use, instead? I reside in the same state, but am about 150 miles away...

    Thanks much in advance!

In addiction, suppression of symptoms should suppress the disease altogether since addiction is, as he observed, a "symptom-driven disease". Of all "anticraving medications used in animals, only one - baclofen - has the unique property of suppressing the motivation to consume cocaine, heroin, alcohol, nicotine and d-amphetamine"

Dr. Levin is readily available via his contact number:

          Office: 312-236-9975

I contacted him via the advise of the online forum. He did get me started and I am forever grateful. I hesitate to provide you his home phone although he may provide it when you call him. He will take calls at home from 7-9 pm CDT.

Dr. L provided an excellent introduction to Bac (and this is important for many of us) and he will provide you authenticity. I will provide you some limitations of this introduction of service but not though the public forums. Please feel free to contact me via PM.

Yes, Dr. L is a good way to get your scrip and an introduction.

Realize he may or may not go over all the true SE's you could get. Just know that you can get some really off the wall SE's from baclofen.

I don't recall the name of the site/service but someone like Ne can chime in. It has all the SE's mentioned pretty much.

Please keep plenty of backup baclofen if you are titrating up to a high dose. I suggest ordering some extra.

              Chime in with your questions.

Thanks Much, COSGringo! Will do with questions! I read the Prescribing Guide by the French Dr.'s, which has a pretty good rundown of SE's to watch out for, so if/when I start, I'll be on the lookout.

No worries! I hate to throw it out there but in some cases and I know for at least some members here, having diazepam or alprazolam on hand can be a good idea at least at high doses.

Once you titrate up, tell Dr. L you are having insomnia which you may very well get. If you should be unfortunate enough to have an anxiety attack at a high dose those meds will be handy. Dr L will most likely prescribe them to you at a very low dose. They do help with sleep.

I am not trying to say you should start looking for pills as an answer to everything but some of us have had those anxiety issues at very high doses and they can be life savers.

                  Good luck!
