    Antabuse SCARE!!!

    Hi Everyone,
I'm 31 days AF today and have been taking antabuse without any difficulty for the past 3 weeks.
Today, my boss brought in lunch for me because she knows I like spicy food and she wanted me to try a dish she made.
It was delicious, and I ate the whole plate. I asked her how she made it, and she said it was shrimp, scallops, penne pasta and VODKA SAUCE with Indian spices.
I almost fell off my chair, and was angry with myself for not asking first. I googled immediately and tried to make a plan for how to dip out of work if I got sick.

Thank God nothing happened. I don't know what I would have said!
Anyone else have any scares or actual reactions?
    Day 1 again 11/5/19
    Goal 1: 7 days :heartbeat:
    Goal 2: 14 days :happy2:
    Goal 3: 21 days :happy2:
11/27/19: messed up but back on track
12/14/19: bad doozy but back on track

    One day at a time.

Nothing happened because the Alcohol from the Vodka evaporated during the cooking process. This is the usual case when cooking with Alcohol. All that's left is the flavor of the Vodka.

    But...

If not simmered long enough, some alcohol remains. Good thing your boss let the sauce boil through and through

    Regards.

I would have freaked out too. If something had happened which thank goodness nothing did happen, you could have blamed it on her cooking.:H:H

          Thanks for your replies!
I know the alcohol cooks out, but I have read that people have reactions to so many things...mouthwash, perfume, vinegar!
Glad to know I can still enjoy the boss's cooking without worry!

I have Antabuse as a back up safety net and if the compulsion to drink ever hits me hard I'm gonna force myself to take it. I've used it in the past and have never had a reaction to mouthwash, salad dressings etc. but it's good to keep in mind. IMO Antabuse is an excellent tool! :l
