    Baclofen 'old timer' still struggling.

Ig, why don't you try the liquid baclofen - I've found it makes quite a difference with regards the SE's. It seems a much cleaner baclofen. Even to add in ordering hassles, I reckon it's worth it.

I would love to try the liquid Bac but can't be bothered. Zimbabwe post office, Burma post office - run by the same money grubbing nitwits, plus I have a cheap source at my local chemist.
Don't seem to have much of a hangover this morning, surprisingly. Maybe time to increase to 110mg, maybe not.
Started Baclofen 3/9/10 Hit my switch at 250mg on 21/11/10 Present maintenance dose of 50mg : started drinking after 1 year, upped dose to 80mg and stopped: Tapered to 30mg, started 6 months of drinking, upped dose to 240mg to stop 12/7/12

Do what works for you. That's all that matters at the end of the day. It's a tool and not a cure all IMHO. It requires you to want it still. Why else would we be here, right?

            True Cos. It's a 'tool'.

It treats our symptom (drinking), not our ailment IMO and in my case. Many people disagree that alcoholics have an underlying imbalance but for me that is definitely the case.

I could so do with an alternative to getting drunk that I could take occasionally! Just to take an occasional holiday from all the shit in my brain.

Just had 2 AF days again. Think I will need to apply some willpower if I'm to avoid going up to very high dose.

As an an adult of 50 years, I am not suited/adjusted to an AF life. Don't know what or how to have fun apart from freeing myself from the shackles of my mind with alcohol. Still a long struggle ahead of me even if AF.

Good to hear you are managing again Ig. Hopefully you are able to identify the con men out for your loot at the same time!

I have this Moringa tree growing in my back garden. It cures just about everything, from baldness to erectile dysfunction. Contact me via PM for details on how you too could benefit...

Had a beer tonight but definitely didn't want a 2nd. Disappointing that I'm still not out of the bushes but surely close.

Can do better than that. Had a couple of bowls of bean soup with my supper of which the pods are a substantial ingredient. Don't really like it, the casings are like wood which you spit out after you've chewed all the insides out of them. Far too much work for me. However it's a well known fact that if you eat enough you'll become stinking rich and reach Nirvana in 10,000 lifetimes rather than 20,000.

                    IG-

How is it going now? Like many others recent stories, it is interesting to see the changes for people at different levels at different times. I hope you can get there on a lower dose to avoid the nasty SEs

On 120 now. SEs took a quantum leap when I first upped the dose but have eased up now.

Still can't seem to get past 2 or occasionally 3 nights without being compelled to have a drink. Not a lot, can quit easily after a few because it is just not hitting the spot any more. The trouble is that, I have this abyss that used to get filled at least once a day with alcohol.

In two minds (or more!) about going up. May keep it here (controlled drinking at least) or add something else like Nal or Mirzasomething to the mix.

Had a breakthrough on the introspection the other day. One of the things I'm suffering from, I can now give a name to.

I will be sure to wear a red carnation in my lapel should we ever meet in person Ig.

That means I will also have to wear a lapel though, so perhaps I'll just carry the carnation.

Thanks for the sympathy but no need to be cryptic. A simple BLEEP stenciled across the forehead should do the trick.

I will have it tattooed, and will also carry the carnation, just in case. I wouldn't want to be left alone in a Burmese train station. I will tattoo it in red, in case there is someone else with BLEEP on their forehead. If there are two people with that unlikely tattoo, you will just have to approach us both, unless of course one isn't carrying a carnation, in which case you can write him off as an imposter.

As to the void, maybe it's there for a reason? Keep looking, and good luck.

I'm pretty sure that you would be able to identify one another in even the most crowded train station in Burma without going so far as lapels, carnations or tattoos.
