I realize baclofen works great for most of you. I titrated up too fast. Abused it, and am now facing the consequences. Pm's are welcome. In previous posts I mention recreational abuse of baclofen is documented on the internet. It is mostly in the Bluelight forum. I realize the purpose of MWO is NOT recreational use at all. But as alcoholics, we all have experience abusing substances, so it is hard for me to believe no one can believe me. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help, and I apologize to anyone who finds me distasteful.

Titration down
I'm at the point I need Baclofen every 4-5 hours to stave off severe anxiety. Including bedtimes, then 4 hours later, and immediately upon waking. I have been on 9 months total dose 200-250 per day. I don't wish to start an argument with people who think I am "full of it". Does anyone have a similar experience and were you able to ween off without in patient treatment?

Titration down
Hey, Drb. Nice to see you again.
I think most of us were in that position when we titrated up. I took baclofen ~3 hours when I was taking 320mg. I was able to sleep, but only for short periods. (Two hour stretches, at one point. Then more like four hours.)
I also titrated down much too quickly the first time. And then I went back up to about ~220mg, and titrated down about 20mg/week (give or take) from there to about 140mg. I'm going even more slowly this time, and using some other tools so as not to have any dramatic SEs.
I'm not sure what you're asking, since taking the medication frequently enough so that it stays level is part of the process. And titrating down is just that... But I'm fairly certain that we are all here to help, regardless of the first misunderstanding.

I think I know of what you speak. I had an episode where I had extreme anxiety, caused by titrating too fast. Baclofen fucks with your mind; the SE of not want wanting to drink is only a part of that.
I wouldn't panic though, if you can stabilise your dose at a level that is comfortable to you, I think you'll find that this shit will ease off. If going down is a part of that, then so be it; only you can tell where you are comfortable. Know that stability is a big part of the equation though.
