Studies for the lay man to read (my mum)

    Hi,

For the first time in my life I've confided in my mum in me about to take on Baclofen. I never even told here about TSM.

Partly because I have a long history of drug abuse and well... She is a bit dubious (who can blame her???) She's of the AA way of thinking but is open to new ideas for the most part.

My question is... Can someone kindly point me to a few studies for the lame man that I can show here to put her at ease? She is all for it as I've had a heart to heart and have told her I really want to get my house in order.

I honestly think I can't every see myself getting so so out of control (homeless wise drinking mentholated spirits etc etc) well who knows???? But I know my life will just be a rigmarole of job lose and just basically a shit life.

Would the book be best or I can show here some studies as asked for above? I really appreciate any help. I've put my mum through hell and shes's said to me many many times she just prays for the day she hasn't to worry about getting a that dreaded phone call some night about me.

    Best Regards.
    Thomas

Dr. Aimesen's books "End of my Addiction" and "Heal Thyself" would both help her understand and there is a YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byain0Vo5mo[/video]]Baclofen dramatically reduces cocaine craving - YouTube

Thanks Hippy. Not sure what happened with TSM. I'm going absolutely f**king mad on the drink ans it shows. The other thing is its bringing on other behavior that was stopped since starting TSM.

I'd a felling the book might be the best bet. My mums not stupid but like a lot of mums shes from the AA generation but she sees the hurt I'm in sometimes and a means to an ends is all that matters mate.

Just a note: both books that Hippy mentions are the same book. They have different titles because, well, who knows? Some bizarre publishing quirk.

The consolidated baclofen information thread has links to all the studies, there are a few good ones in there.
