    The Doc and refills

Hey, just wanted to weigh in on a positive thing with Doc L.

I had troubles in the past with refills. My last 4 times (that makes a year). I've had no issues at all. Timely. I am almost thinking he got a new fax machine or something.

He lowered my bills to reasonable considering I don't reach out to speak with him and such.

Cheers! Oh wait possibly the wrong term to use.

That is great news, COS! Thanks. Considering I may be in the market for refills from the doc soon, I'm really glad to hear this.

Hey well that's good to hear. Keep in mind getting the process going is still a painful one. Not sure if you've read the stories.

Kind of walking up to the pharmacist with a grocery list. Once you get past that, things are smoother now.

I got my first script from my local pharmacist a couple of weeks ago. It felt worse than picking up a 12 pack before 10am! They did call Dr. L for me and everything went fine, but that little bottle of pills came with a ton of judgement. I think I'm just going to keep it to be able to have a bottle with a legitimate prescription on it.

I hate the Judgy McJudgerson pharmacists. But just remember: you are doing absolutely nothing wrong. You are filling a legitimate prescription from your psychiatrist. So f*ck them. And, depending on the pharmacy you use (I use Walgreens), you can set up an account online and have your refills shipped directly to your house, not a single question asked, whenever you need. Takes about a day or two for them to deliver.

It is funny, though, how you get less judgmental looks from the cashiers at the liquor store when you're picking up that booze before 10 AM. I was doing that this morning, actually, and they were great. Ahhhh, I love liquor stores... Er, well, nevermind.

I wish my local beer shop was the same or any I use for that matter. My local are the most ignorant bunch of c**ts imaginable. I swear that when they're hiring you have to meet a certain level of ignorance to be took on. They can't say hello... can't look you in toe eye or attempt to make conversation and your lucky getting a thank you when your change is handed back. And believe me, booze isn't cheap here compared to in the states. I used to spent every penny I had in these s**t holes. People like me keep the f**kers in business.

            Sorry for the rant

              Rants are welcome here.

Mine are Koreans, and they're actually very lovely. More concerned with talking with one another and texting on their phones behind the counter than anything else. I believe they're all part of one family.

And they're at least 3 or 4 dollars more expensive for everything than the grocery store 6 blocks away. But I don't drive, so stocking up is not really an option. But they're only only open until 11pm. The other liquor store that I can see from my window and is open until 2 is even more expensive. So there's some kind of planning ahead involved, usually.

The only half decent one near me sell you loose cans out of multipack not meant for sale seperately That's how costly alcohol is getting here (UK). But they still charge you 5p for a bag (New law just brought in)

                Talk about a contradiction.

Sorry for taking your thread off topic Gringo

                  COS,

Thanks for removing the offensive thread.

I like your new avatar. I hope that posting your own picture doesn't count as narcissism.

                    Morning, COS.

I had no idea that you were an administrator and could do anything with any posts or threads not your own. I thought that those people (or person) was completely anonymous, clearly not a part of this part of the forum, and generally respond only when they get numerous complaints about something.

I've been meaning to ask you who the avatar is. It's on the tip of my brain, but I can't place him at all. Nice hair-do though.

I had the same experience with Dr. L, btw. Took a couple of months, but the refills have been effortless for most of the last couple of years.

The pharmacists? I really cannot imagine how much that job sucks. I've met almost as many pharmacists (and techs) in church basement rooms as I have restaurant people. Now I look at them and think, "Why did you pick playing with pills for a living???"

And whatever. We're on the cusp of breakthrough medicine and they...fill pill bottles. Keep it in mind. And that said, they're just doing their job and they don't want to get in trouble if you die.
(I had a story on my thread from eons ago about my first confrontation with a difficult pharmacist. He finally called Levin, and I watched his big round face grow red as he listened. When he hung up, he said to me, "Keep in mind your doctor works for you. You don't have to put up with that." And I thought (but didn't say) "Keep in mind, you work for both of us. Fill the damn bottle." I was timid-ish back then about those kinds of things. Not so much anymore.)

As far as I'm aware the law making plastic bags chargeable only applies to Ireland, although some shops have decided to do it on the mainland UK anyway.

Pharmacists, it's not a sweet shop they have responsibility and a professional body to answer to. I do find under the NHS some pharmacy assistants do act as if they are doing you a favour, and due to some rubbish customer service I've almost filed a complaint BUT I'll let my feet do the walking and will probably take more charge myself in future(after handing over to them for a bit).
I used the Sinclair Method to beat my alcoholic drinking.

I actually did not delete it.
Someone else did. Self protection? I don't know.

It wasn't that big of a deal to me. I sure don't have admin powers. Usually things go pretty unmodded here. Dunno.

That avatar, haha. You DON'T want to know. I probably need to change that very quickly. It's so wrong. LOL :H
