    Abstinence Challenge

Has anyone heard from Stuck? Went to 3 bottle shops looking for Sharps AF beer last night and remembered how he enjoyed an O'douls the other day at the bar. How are you doing my friend?

    Mary?

    Emily?

    Caro?

    Dizzle?

      doing just fine Juan

Going up to 120mg - where I've stayed - seems to be where I should be, was around 7 pm on Saturday night when the thought popped into my head that I hadn't even thought about drinking, haha - even managed to feel annoyed with myself about having the thought!! eejit.

So, seem to be in the same place as you Juan, was really just habit and someone used the word 'reset' for this 30 days, great word, like it.

I'm facing a whole lot of shit in my life just now and this time I'm actually facing it like an adult and dealling with it and trying to find a way out and this time it's not with a glass of wine in my hand, then another then another ... good feeling.

Also, fellow Scot Andy Murray has just won the tennis and the fact that I don't feel the need to pop open the Cava (can't afford Champers at the moment) is another good feeling.

Must try this alcohol free beer you guys are always talking about

I wouldn't really call it "enjoyed." But yeah, definitely something different about sitting at the end of the bar and staring down into the abyss of an empty bottle of AF beer, as opposed to the real thing. I have pretty much switched from soda water and cranberry juice to AF beer at the bar, though, at least for the first one. The bartender usually just gives me water or juice after that (just like old times!)

I bet you're not the only one!!!

Just been busy--with work, with gazing blankly at walls, you know, those kinds of things. Will be 60 days on Wednesday. And then after that we're into uncharted territory, folks...

I did not have to go back to my switch. Went to a high of 190 and sitting at 180. I am doing well (day 3).

So glad to hear everyone is meeting the challenge. Love the humor

I never understood the AF beer. I guess I just never cared for the "taste" of beer. I would rather have a club soda.

I am getting back to my love of reading. I highly recommend a book called "The Lost Weekend." There was a movie in the 1940s that won the Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Actor. The book came first. It is an extraordinarily chilling look into the mind of an alcoholic. The author was an hopeless alcoholic at one time and knew his subject well.

Maybe you care for the taste of beer. The problem is that AF beer doesn't taste like beer. It tastes more like gelding pee.

By the way, I had the same with Budweiser. When I still drank, if there was only Budweiser, I rather drank soda. I really find it disgusting.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

I have never tasted gelding pee! Is it carbonated, too?

The best part of those dreams is waking up and realize you didn't drink after all... it can be such a relief!

I just counted. I'm confused. I think I have 17 days today. What a bummer. I went backward like 2 days.

Today there are some circumstances that normally would have send me straight to the bottle.
Just to find out tomorrow that the circumstances still exist.

So I rather face it on sober. Just because I can.
No need for the poison that stole so much of my life.
                              I'm alive and kicking.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life.
