    Abstinence Challenge

94 days. First time in an airport sober--I think ever--coming up in a couple hours.

(Well, for those who've read my thread, first time in an airport without bac, and completely sober...)

Day 6 AF. Had a bad dream that I woke up at 1pm hung over and late to work, scrambling to tell a lie to why I was late. Then I really woke up and was relieved that it was just a dream and I was not hungover or late.

Getting married in September - going AF for 40 days and 40 nights before and up to (at least) - have some baclofen coming in the mail :-)

        On Day 3!

If I were getting married I might use those 40 days and 40 nights to reenact The Flood with Jameson. Just sayin'...

Good luck, and welcome to the challenge!

Day 7 AF. Happy to be up at 8:30am (no small feat for me) hangover-free.

Been riding that flood on and off for couple months now, figured once it hit 40 days to go I had to reign things in and get serious - I'm such a better person dry, don't want to negatively influence in any way the most important day of my life

              On Day 4!

I think you will look back on this decision in the future and be really happy about it. Congratulations and welcome!

Day 9 AF. Going to a family dinner in celebration of my bday... I'd definitely get drunk if not for my Baclofen/Antabuse, my commitment to 30 days AF, and you folks.

                        Thanks for that, Juan

Day 10 AF. Felt extremely tired and low motivation most of yesterday and today. A definite slump. Also a little deflated cuz I'm eating really clean and healthy and still not losing any significant weight... I know it's a long process and I must be patient.

But unlike when I was drinking, the day was not a total waste, cuz no hangover. Thankful for that, and keeping it in mind that sober life will occasionally be hard, sad, tiring, depressing... and experiencing those things sober is a much much better way to live life that trying to drown myself in poison.

Day 11 AF. Woke up too late, need to try to get a handle on that and go to bed earlier. But thankfully woke up hangover-free and stress levels pretty well within normal.

Day 12 AF. It's my birthday, I'm 37 today. Glad I made the decision to live my bday AF. And tomorrow will be a new AF record for me in the past few years! Sober life is sometime tiresome and exasperating but ultimately good... much better than living life as the living dead (ie, hammered/hungover every other day).

Well done Skullbabyland! You seem to be doing really well with the AF time. It's a pretty different way of living after so many drunken years, but I'm learning to like it. Mornings without hangovers are great- especially the weekends. I also like driving in the evenings, seeing houses lit up from the inside, sunsets, that kind of thing.

Thanks Juan. So far so good... I really think the bac and antabuse is a good combo for me, for now. Looking forward to hitting my 30 day milestone... and maybe even 60... gasp!

I know what you mean. I love my clear-headed mornings for sure. I love not wanting to crawl under a rock.
