congrats all on the AF progress, not so good news for me though
i screwed up on day 33 and decided to drink. my SO she limited me in what i drank (lukcily). i ended up having a whole bottle of wine to celebrate buying the new place. i kind of had some fond memories of alcohol creeping up the days before, but still nothing like the cravings before. So i decided to test the waters.
The drinking itself wasn't fun at all, i just felt out of it and didnt get any enjoyment from it, baclofen does that to me. my ususal AF non interrupted sleep was turned into waking up every few hours. i finally had enough at 4am and decided to laptop on the couch with the most horrendous hangover, the anxiety, the regrets the second guessing over life decisions was aweful, i also threw up a few times in the toilet. i paid $35 to do this to myself as well. great waste that was.
So im back to 2 days AF and have no desire to go and relive that poisoning. Disappointing i didn't keep going but it was a good lesson that i know drinking sucks and i dont want it anymore.
I have baclofen to thank for this, when i went AF before, my first drink was usually amazingly euphoric, which would just make the cravings for the next drink even worse, then i would drink again and then slide back into my old pattern. given my horrible experience i dont think that will happen again.01-01-2014 - Indifference reached, success with high dose Baclofen 295mg.

Sorry to hear you had a bad drunk/hangover, buddy, but sounds like it could be a blessing in disguise since it wasn't enjoyable... definitely sounds like the paradigm is shifting for you. Try to remember that next time the cravings, and/or the "celebratory" thoughts, come up to try to trip you up.
It sure sounds like Baclofen is doing what it's supposed to do... make drinking heavily unappealing. It's good news, my friend

Skull- I am at 140mg now and have been for about a month. It's working out pretty well so far. No cravings. I am getting myself back into the gym, too and that feels really good. 8 years of beer drinking has turned me into a bit of a marshmallow, but I'm getting stronger fairly quickly.
Neo- Thanks for the report. I have had some alcohol thoughts recently, but lived vicariously through your hangover! I will carry on AF now and I thank you for your sacrifice
Stuck- You were absolutely right about the Clausthaler! That actually kinda tastes like a real beer. I found a super cheap NA ($2.49 a six pack) called Penn's Best recently. It is probably the Hamm's of AF beer, but squeeze a lime wedge into it and you really have something tasty and refreshing.
Caro- Thanks for dropping in the other day! I'm glad your depression has lifted and I hope you will be able to stay AF after you stop the baclofen.

Juan- so is 140 an increase or a decrease for you? You mentioned alcohol thoughts, so keep a vigilant eye! Great to hear you're back to the gym... from one former beer-drinking marshmallow to another, lol. Though the AF beer ain't going to help with being a marshmallow! But we gotta have SOME tasty treats from time to time, right?
Interestingly enough, I've read in other threads about a seeming boost in exercise capacity and recovery time as one good SE of baclofen. Not sure how accurate it is but if so, I'll take it
