Abstinence Challenge
Am visiting in central Florida for a few days. Staying with people who have several bottles of alcohol sitting on the counter. Not going to be a problem though. I'm on an AF kick and ain't coming off. Truthfully, there was a little unease at first but it has no attraction for me now. Today is lucky 13."If I don't go crazy, honey, I'm going to lose my mind." Thanks Juan, I certainly am... this is the longest I've been sober in 20 years. Since my teens. It's a trip. I'm happy and plan to continue, now zeroing in on 90 days... though I don't think I'll keep counting days at least here on this thread... maybe I'll do like you guys do and just report in every now and then. I'll still read and contribute though of course.

Abstinence Challenge
I am here. Day 1. Going for 30 days at least. I am at 180mg of Bac and have been there for a week or more. I seem to have reached indifference (again). Had 2 beers on Friday, none Saturday, and had 4 yesterday, though i didn't even have the taste and certainly didn't get the buzz. So... here it goes. Thanks for the invite.

Day nine AF and also at 80mg. SEs are physical. Not tired during the day but and finding it really hard to sleep. I'm also "irregular" at best. I'm not sure of it's the Bac or not drinking. Evan and I had a conversation about sleep issues when I had them at 100mg last year during my first try. I will re-read what he suggested. No cravings at all. I'm going AF for as long as I need to. I may have a beer at a spring training game in AZ in March...whoopie!
When can I say I'm indifferent? Do I hold it at 80mg and test it out? Pre AF days were drinking out of habit only until I hit 70mg.

Hi Sam
You will know when you are indifferent. I can't explain it for you because it seems that everyone experiences it differently, but you will know, I am sure of that.
One way I know for myself is by seeing visual cues such as beer in the supermarket or billboards advertising booze. I used to get an automatic craving response from seeing those things, but now nothing happens. What I mean by craving response is like a little instant brain twitch. Not a longing, more of an instantaneous "I want that!" thought. It would be imperceptibly fast, but I could still "feel" it. Now if I see cold beer in the supermarket display, it's just like looking at anything else in the store like broccoli or cheese or something like that. The booze has no power to induce any thought or feeling in me like it did before.
I can't speak to what you should do re the bac. If you were drinking out of habit, just see what happens after being AF for a while and go from there.

OK where I am at, 3? Something like that. Looks so small and insignificant...

Juan, are you not on a bac protocol anymore? I'm so glad to hear you're at 7+ months, you must feel amazing. Thanks for all your continued support
Stuck, keep at it, you know how the days stack up and pretty soon you're in double and then triple digits before you know it... and life is so much more manageable. But I'm not sayin' anything you don't know, just trying to throw some encouragement your way, man!
Also welcome Sam and Dun, so glad all are here and doing the sober challenge with us
