    How much Dr. Levin

I don't have insurance nor much money after a car accident. Lieng to my GP and continueing telling him I'm having back spasms is keeping me in 80mg supply. Which is one reason I'm tapering off.

How much is it to get an appointment with Dr. Levin? Total cost all said and done. I know if i don't that when school starts back and i am forced into constant social interaction I will come home and drink myself to sleep. My upcoming months require a lot of social interaction. I'm willing to accept the addiction in order to move my life forward. I cannot take 5 courses at school and work without drinking.

I want to know how much the appointment is, how much a follow up appointment is and what the complete cost is to get my for sure supply of baclofen. Will Dr. Levin allow me to stay on baclofen forever. My doctor only charges 55$ per month U.S. and is now claiming my back spasms are caused by my anxiety. Which is irrelevant to the topic and i believe him to be an asshole and an idiot because he has no idea how the drugs work besides looking at a diagnostic manual and saying here take this for spasms. I tried having a convo with him and explain it was a gaba-b agonist and cured my anxiety.

My theory is, people don't drink just because they like it. They drink to cover up anxiety/depression etc.

Please, tell me what is the initial startup cost as well as a phone number and what's expected to get started. This will be cash pay.

What addiction are you referring to?

Baclofen, or shall i say dependency because you don't crave it. This is minutia, just like ssri addiction. Call the withdrawal SE if you wish, as SSRI withdrawal is called discontinuation syndrome. Anxiety is a feeling of impeding doom and constant worry, be it of the future, present, or past. Hence, my fear whether irrational or not, of becoming dependent on a substance i will lose access to. Causing me to suffer from acute withdrawal without knowing what could be going on in my life at the time. It may be a detrimental moment i need my bearings and the stakes could make or break me. If i lose access, bad things could happen. This is what anxiety feels like, in written form. A preconceived notion of the worst possible outcome of any given scenario. It's useful in planning and very smart people have used it to benefit your life, for instance, a guard rail on a bridge or mountain.

My anxiety is not getting better and i have reached a base level and am angry atm. I mean, dead sober i still have debilitating anxiety. I want to deal with Dr Levin because i need a prescription of baclofen to cure my anxiety and make my life liveable.

Baclofen to me, is a godsend. I can't explain what all it has done for me in terms of social lubrication, be able to look forward to going anywhere, job, school, etc. I am damn near agoraphobic and have been prescribed anti anxiety meds but find them inferior to baclofen. They work, but leave me tranquilized and drugged feeling.

Without baclofen, i will drink if i have a chance, just to be around people because it's acceptable. I have no addiction to benzos because i know they are dangerous and my family is addicted to them. Once I found baclofen was non addictive (i am physically dependant on it, today i took 80mg because i'm tired of feeling trapped on just 15mg and feel like the taper is pointless) i decided to be on it for life. I was going to get off from baclofen because i was in a serious car wreck, my second one and almost died. I felt like god wanted me to be completely sober and on nothing. But i cannot accomplish anything if that's the case.

A psychologist cannot help me, i have too much trauma that i'm not willing to explain as it would take too long. Simply put, Pot is my DOC, alcohol is my social lubricant, ssris and anti anxiety meds leave me depressed, unmotivated and feeling helpless. I want fulfillment in my life, and baclofen gives me the ability to feel like a human being and not hold onto every word someone says, or feel uncomfortable in my skin, or like i need to get high.

Drugs i would get high on are mild, lortab, oxycodone, klonopine, xanax, alcohol f drug binges and addictive behaviors and a lifestyle of isolation. I'm 26, i want to live. Baclofen allows me to do that. Gaba-b agonist just cures my anxiety in a way where i don't feel uncomfortable if a cop pulls me over that i'm on something. Or that anybody can tell for that matter, it just feels natural and like i don't even have anxiety, and i don't want any other drug or alcohol.

So, again, how much does it cost. offer the correct information to help those who want help. How much does a refill cost and what is the procedure. Don't be defensive and treat me as if im a liar, we all are entitled to our reasons. You're here for informational purposes only yet you're being defensive and reluctant to provide it.

I will allow myself some sleep before i reply on this forum again, perhaps i'm being a bit defensive as well.

I believe Dr. L's cost for an initial consultation is $135....at least it was a couple of years ago for me and I know he has not raised his prices. I was on 90 mg. for over a year and became indifferent to AL, and have a maintenance dose of 30 mg. per day. I g3t 270 tablets at Walgreen's (I joined their prescription club) for $20.

Dr Levin charged me $140 a few months ago. I kept my script at Publix. I can't recall how many he scripted me--maybe 180 20 mg tabs and the price was around $45. Walgreens is cheaper, I hear. Dr L sends a bill. I did not have any follow up appts so I don't know how often those are or how they are priced.

I'm thinking a guy this smart should be able to search through a few threads to find out Dr. L's contact information and pricing on his own.

To my knowledge the doctor does not have set fees. He truely is in it to help us with additction, not to make money. If you explain your financial situation I am sure that he will take that into consideration. He is a very calm and understanding gentleman.

I have not filled the script that he gave me since yet so I cannot comment on the cost through legitimate channels. I have found that the liquid baclofen is very reasonably priced compared to other back channel sources.

As far has people being defensive on this board, just be aware that over the years there has been a fair amount of drama with "trolls", which I see is a subject of a recent thread. Don't take it personally.

Dr. L won't charge a dime if you are broke and need help.

He used to charge me pretty well. Once I explained I have no coverage for him, he lowered it substantially to next to nothing.

Tell him your financial situation. He's not doing it for money. Call him if you really need help and want to get some professional assistance. Again, tell him your money situation.

I've shopped around pharmacies, and i find the baclofen varies in looks and quality, ALOT! Some look like vicodin tablets, some are small circles that say dan.

^these are not that good IMO, much larger so it must have more filler.

Mine are northstar, it comes in a tylenol type bottle, not a generic pharmacy bottle. It says 100tablets, and the pharmacy puts a sticker over it that says 120 tablets, they open it and add 20 more in. at top it says ndc 16714-072-04 and reads BACLOFEN TABLETS USP, 20 mg.

                  *example of bottle label
These are my favorite. Last script was $24.89
Klonopine was a little less, $18.85 for 90 .5mg tablets
lortab was expensive, $30.11 for 60 5/500 tablets
                  ambien, $15.00 for 30 10mg tablets

both of these are good, too

But not as good as my fav# n030 pills. they are very flaky and melt in your mouth easy, making them faser to absorb. IMO

My aunt gets me another bac prescription. She has awesome insurance. its $2.60 for her 120, 20mg. She's on a set rate, so anything is the same price for her.

Thanks guys, for all the kind informative replies. So, if i get an appointment i get 4 refills, right?

Where would i go from there to get more? Another costly appointment, or do you just call and tell him you need more. Whats the cost to get more refills another words. Would he let me stay on a dose of 300+ for a long time?

I seem to be getting Zenith brand mostly as of late. Work fine for me I guess. Been on it so long I am not sure it matters.

All my backup meds are lioresal. I need to start using them and replenish since I've had them a long time.

I only get 2 refills. I don't pay much at all and did not get bills a couple times so I am not complaining.

Do you have insurance? The refills cost whatever the pharmacy is charging or your deductible is. He's a doc so you can get it through your insurance. If not, check out the pharmacy prescription plans. They should not be too expensive either way.

One thing that has GREATLY improved is Dr L getting the refill done. I am not sure if he got a new fax machine but my refills come over in a day. He must have a new fax.

My other suggestion is to calculate the maximum dosage you have on that scrip and even if you are taking 1/4 of that dosage on the way up, refill when you can. It's a good way to get extras on hand. I need to start doing that as I am below my max.

Good luck. Again, get extras. Sounds like you have a scrip of some sort. Personally I have no issue with someone getting extras via River Pharmacy. Lioresal is fine and their prices are fine. They do take a few weeks. Good backups.

If you travel, bring tons of extras. That's why I like have the blisters of lioresal. Easy to carry. Never got hassled even coming back from S. American countries like MX.

Cheers, err I mean good luck.

Oh I meant to add, getting the refills is simply calling your pharmacy and they will fax him. Boom, more refills. He won't charge you a consultation fee but might charge you for the refills. Anywhere from free to maybe $130 if he thinks you can get your insurance to cover it. Some do, some don't. Might never did.

I told him to please send me literature to my regular doc so he would get on board and script it for me through my insurance. That's when my big bills stopped.

Are you at 300mg's now? Is that your switch? A lot of folks switch below that. Whatever the case is, he will write the scrip for what you need to be at. Don't worry about that.

                        Thanks Gringo.

I have no insurance, i explained my poverty to my doctor and he only charges $55 for each appointment. I hassle him and get him to call a month in after that. I get one month prescription with no refills at 80mg, but this is for back spasms (a lie). I was scared because i was forced out of pills and suffered acute withdrawal. I was buying scripts from other people and trading narcotics for it, just being honest. That's when i was at 300+, in actuality i can live with around 150-200mg.

Last script from the pharmacy was $24.89, that's 120, 20mg pills @80 mg a day. I have been stockpiling during my taper, i was down to 15 mg and the rest was just extras. Today and yesterday i took 90mg-100mg, felt great. Yesterday i took 80mg in the morning and 10mg at night. Today i spent all day at church and took 60mg in the morning and 40mg when i went back that night.

Since i don't have insurance, and my doctor cannot know anything about this (hes a jackass), i also don't want "alcoholic" on my record because i have a panic disorder and need benzos (alcohol abuse and benzos are a contraindication) from time to time prn, since i was in a car wreck i also need pain pills. I fractured my pelvis and vertebraes. I need Dr. Levin to be private about it and a cheap initial fee because im broke.
gringo wrote: Oh I meant to add, getting the refills is simply calling your pharmacy and they will fax him. Boom, more refills.
Then i'm wondering how i go about refills. Do i just call the pharmacy even though refills are at 0, or do i have to make another appointment with Dr. Levin. If they fax him, am i charged anything other than the prescription cost? It would be ideal if i just had a onetime fee with Dr. Levin and then forever on end just had to pay for the prescription. Is this a dream that will never come true?

I seriously need this medicine, and don't have the money to pay for it tbh. Will he prescribe my klonopine to keep my cost down? I know this is scatterbrained, but i still haven't gotten any sleep. My baclofen doses are sporadic right now due to taper and deciding to go back on the medicine. Still it's been a much better past 2 days for me and i need to decide whether to go off the medicine because i can't afford it, or come up with a plan to get it.

If i'm paying Dr. Levin anything, I will not be able to afford to see my GP. I have no income, no job, nothing. My life is shit right now. If i can stay on baclofen, i believe i can get it back together. Again, the past 2 days taking my baclofen, i've felt like a different person, with hope and no anxiety. My klonopine is for panic attacks, i have ptsd from my car wreck as well. It would be wonderful if he could prescribe the baclofen and klonopine.

Please give me a number to contact him. As well as an estimated price for one year of dealing with him, minus the prescription cost, that will vary and since i live in alabama and have a local pharmacy my prescriptions will be cheaper, i believe.

I really want to sleep, i took 3 ambien last night and still didn't fall asleep. Baclofen has a powerful effect on insomnia ( have it anyway) when not on a constant stable dose. And thanks guys for treating me with respect and answering my questions so far.

Dr. Levin is a lifeline for most of us. He doesn't prescribe the medication simply because you call him.

He might be able to help you, but I think expecting free consultations, free refills ad infinitum, in the amounts you think you require for "the rest of your life" is not a realistic expectation. He's a psychiatrist, not a drug dealer.

Thanks NE for using your forum status to label me as a troll. I wouldn't mind, except it saddens me because it deems everything i've sad as a lie.

I never said i wanted free consultations, someone said he would do it for free because he wasn't in it for the money. I just need to know it's not going to be 135 every month, or every time i need a refill. I definitely never expected free medication, i was hoping for an initial cost of 135 and then for maybe 6 months to a year I would just have to buy the prescription.

Who wouldn't be pissed if they constantly had to defend themselves. That's what made my other post seem like i was trolling i suppose, then again, i don't even think you know what trolling is. I have proved to the best of my ability by showing you i have a gold membership at another site. I would be willing to take a picture of my baclofen and right my username on it. But this forum isn't what i thought it would be. Anyone who says anything negative about your prized medicine is either a troll or from big pharma or otherwise. you protect it not wanting to here it's flaws.

Down to brass tax. Thank you for the information gringo. How much does baclofen treatment cost you per year. I'm legitmately on it, but considering getting off from it because i can't afford to keep seeing my doctor, plus I'm getting it for back spasms and he's going to expect them to heal sometime or another.
