    Tapering question

I'm at 15 mg now and have been for I think 2 weeks. I used 90mg 3 days ago, the next day i used 100mg, today I'm back down to 15mg. I know this isn't a good idea but do i have anything to worry about?

Is it feasible to stay at a low dose like 15 or 10mg and use 80-100mg "as needed" and how often is safe. I'm using it mainly for anxiety at this point which i know isn't what this forum is for, but i have faith you know much more than I do about dependency, I'm still experiencing cognitive dumbness and fatigue from the taper at this dose (15) but all other SE have subsided. If i don't have any tolerance or baclofen in my body, 80-100mg makes me drunk feeling and gives me a very bad high, i learned that in the beginning 2 years ago. It felt the same as when i was taking high doses everyday, i didn't feel any inebriation from it, just clear headed and without anxiety.

How long do you think i could take it consecutively before my tolerance and body require the 80-100mg again without suffering SE from withdrawal going back down to 15mg? Once a week, perhaps?

Have you tried turkey sandwiches? I hear they are pretty powerful.

Eating bread was my point, it or crackers will help avoid a hangover. I don't think that applies to my question. If you're shitfaced drunk, before you goto bed, eat a couple turkey sandwiches because turkey is good for you and better than hamburgers, its the bread you're after.

LOL, you thought i was kidding. That post made me bust out laughing, yes chief, i have tried turkey sandwiches, and i don't think they will help withdrawal, but i know eating bread after drinking helps avoid a hangover. How it works exactly, I'm not sure, maybe by absorbing the alcohol. But i do know this, if you don't eat anything after drinking and just pass out, you'll wakeup feeling like shit. I was taught that trick from old alcoholics.

      Again, derailing my threads...

I am unclear why one would use baclofen in this manner. It doesn't work in the same way that other anxiolytics do. What's more, and perhaps most relevant to your particular situation, is that the vast majority of us on MWO are using baclofen to treat alcoholism and other addiction in order to stop using.

In general, taking baclofen PRN in the manner in which you describe doesn't offer any benefit for our purposes. I have seen several people take it in the way in which you describe it here (a large amount at one time in order to deal with something unrelated to treating addiction) and it doesn't seem like it works out very well. I can't find the threads, but I know that there are at least 4 of them in the last year or so looking to do what you are hoping to accomplish. You'll find more information by searching.

And just so you're aware, it seems high dose baclofen can (ironically) contribute to severe anxiety. This is, of course, something we share with everyone who asks...As are the other side effects and negative aspects of baclofen.

In addition to the thread you posted on in which the person dramatically increased their bac dose, and then dramatically decreased it, there are at least two others. Here is the most recent, I think:

Perhaps posing the question in a forum in which people are looking for answers to anxiety would be a better option.

          Good luck.

            hello on.bac,
as Neva said, eve in my opinion this is not at all the good way to use bac.

I know that, at maintneance dose, a lot of people use to make a +10 or +20 if there is a special "dangerous" party / occasion. Maybe even sublingual for faster effect.

Baclofen has a good positive influence on anxiety but is not an anxiolitic.
Has a good antidepressiv functions but is not an AD.

It's a really good medicament yes! but let's dont ask to him to do everything ;-)
            Baclofen started: January 2013
            Switch (sort of): April 2013 / ~165mg
            November 2014: stable at 45mg: 10AM-15mg, 1PM-15mg, 5PM-15mg
