DOCTOR IN GEORGIA -Helps With Baclofen

Having read several threads relating to doctors who work with Baclofen in the USA, I wanted to formally offer the name of the center that helped me in the very beginning of my baclofen journey.

I first, contacted them after searching non-12 step recovery programs. Also, they were utilizing Naltrexone and a few, other drugs. My thoughts at the time led me to realize the fact that I had nothing to lose by asking centers and/or doctors would they be willing to try Baclofen. After all, what did I have to lose by asking? All they could say,was no. I was desperate and intent on finding a medical/scientific solution to my alcoholism. I was so damned tired of hearing that I had a moral failing or needed to find a higher source. Hell, although a drunk, I have been a pretty damned good person to others and my family. Moral failings my ass! I tried to remember a time when I made a conscious DECISION TO FEEL SICK AS HELL all the time and have no hope. I found a couple of doctors that would consider a baclofen protocol.

I had prepared and compiled many documents and items of research related to Baclofen before I called the owner. Many of these documents came from this site (MWO), many from Otter, Lo0p, and Ne, Bleep, Cass, Red, and a few others (my memory is still shot) The consolidated links to the baclofen was a godsend to me at the time. My mental function at the time was damn near 0 and that may be an over-statement. Also, I sent her the link to the Dianne Sawyer-Ameisen interview. Additionally, I sent her a link to the video showing the more scientific operation of baclofen.

I can not over emphasize enough how valuable this site and the members were to helping me get my start with baclofen -and under the guidance of a medical doctor. Terry Bruce, the owner of Assisted Recovery was one of the first people to dispense Naltrexone and so I assumed she might want to be on the forefront of the Baclofen revolution. And I was right, she was willing to give me and baclofen a go. After several more conversations with Terry, I told her to sign me up; I am on the way to Savannah.

This is where ARC and my baclofen journey began and continues to this day.

    The Center Information:

Owner: Terry Bruce. Phone: (912) 352-2425

Web: Contact | Assisted Recovery Centers of Georgia, Inc.

I have no financial interest in ARC Savannah. I give out this information in hopes that it might help someone else.

    Change Thread Title

I could not find a way to change the title to my previous thread that contains this same information. The Savannah title is not appropriate in my opinion. I only hope that others can get some baclofen help.

This along with other news is very promising; the beginning of a roll?

Pretty soon MWO will be able to fill more of a Mother Hen role as increasingly more alcoholics get good information and support from their local health service providers.
