    My Bac journey

Maybe you could take a trip up to the ones listed in Georgia?

Or, maybe you could take a day and call a ton of psychiatrists/doctors in your area and ask them about bac point-blank. From what I've read, sometimes psychiatrists can be more openminded and/or knowledgable about meds for addiction. They may only prescribe up to 80 mg, but that's still a help. And maybe you can find one that will prescribe more.

And if you mention that you already have been prescribed baclofen, maybe that helps. Or not.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

        Dear Zampa:

Sorry to be the bearer, if you find this bad news: there IS no "book" to take baclofen to end alcoholism by, with the single exception of Dr. Olivier Ameisen's "Heal Thyself." Have you read it?

Have you read how he hit wall after wall after wall, trying to find a crack in conventional medical practice through which his knowledge and experience might trickle in? And how heart-breakingly disappointed he was? That baclofen has been endorsed by the French medical profession is a miracle not only of Dr. Ameisen's work; but also due to the very active forum, similar to this one, in France.

It occurs to me that a present and active member, SpiritWolf, had some success with baclofen through a treatment program. You might talk to him. Other than that, you will have to do a LOT of reading to find the very small handful of members who have found their way out with baclofen WITH the guidance of a medical professional.

If you are in touch with Lo0p, you are in touch with someone who probably knows as much or more about the realm of baclofen for addiction as any medical professional. Please do not discount, nor let your husband, your amazing opportunity, based on the fact that we have figured this out for ourselves, with a tragic lack of understanding and support from the professional medical realm .

        Best of luck. Really!!!

          Yes I see that.
I guess I hoped on a miracle on top of another miracle, ie the medication itself. I'm used to doctors' helping me...
I definitely see what you're saying.

I have the book: I got it last week from Amazon. I haven't started it yet just cos I have another, quite thick, going on and I simply cannot read two at a time, if I don't have to. It spoils both. I will read it as soon as I am done with this as I want to give it my full attention.

I have talked to Spirit, who has been so kind as to give me all the info about the center he went to, and even offered to welcome me an my husband there, in Georgia, with his wife! Ironically, I could have gone till this very week. Now I'm too busy - I told him so and thanked him for his support and availability.

I am in contact with LoOp. We have talked over the phone and by e-mail, and he is been very helpful and available too - more on this later.

So yes, I've done my work. I have bombarded MWO members with messages in the last few days, and all of them have tried to help.

So I understand what you're saying, and I'm finally moving in that direction.
          ....thank you : )

What's the subject matter of the other book you're reading, Zamp?
