I spent part of the sleepless night reading the Consolidated Baclofen Studies Research & Information links on this (B for A) site. Only part of the night because the vertigo was so bad that reading was a problem. Still is this evening, also typing. So, I followed the link to the MWO ?Sweet Success? thread & read all of it, & it is so very heartening! But I do notice that some folks backed off the bac for a while due to SEs. I then googled half life of baclofen and got another MWO site with lots of info I wish I?d looked up two days ago?.. cuz it looks like it?s going to take a couple more days to get enough of the bac out of my system for me to function. I am, as of today, reducing my dosage down to 140mg/day. Looking at my personal journal, I was last comfortable on a dose of 130mg/day, but increasing vertigo, insomnia, neuropathy of my hands, & stuffy headache at 140mg/day. I thought the headache was my allergies, and the neuropathy a return of my carpal tunnel syndrome. So glad I had the time to read more!
So hoping that a reduction to 140mg/d will suffice to make the SEs tolerable and move on again, slower. The past 2 days and intervening insomniac night have been scary, I live alone, I try to keep my phone on me all of the time just in case, but I am so airheaded right now? It?s not over yet, but hopefully will improve soon. I believe I should post this, just in case anything untoward happens, as the people on this forum are the only ones who know that I am taking baclofen, much less that I have the disease of alcoholism. I am also going to post it on MWO, in the meds thread. I apologize if any of this sounds short and terse; I am just not doing well at the moment.
Grateful for this site, and MWO, and Dr. OA, and baclofen,
Be Well,
Jenn
