Does Baclofen make you more emotional?

I'm back on Bac after going off due to side effects. I'm at 30mg- 10mg 3 times a day. I'm foggy, for lack of a better word, but doing ok.

I've become very emotionally labile, and wonder if others have this side effect. Granted, I just sent my daughter off to college 1000 miles away, but I tear up at the strangest things! Is this a normal SE? I'm set to go up by 10mg tomorrow.

    hi Samand.
    are you drinking alongside bac?

hope it'll work out better for you this time around. i've found it can differ quite a lot, this time or another.

When I was titrating up on Bac I was extremely emotional. If something would upset me I would start crying and wouldn't be able to stop all day. Once I got to a level dose it never happened again.

        Good to know!

I wonder why Bac does that. Although it has helped my anxiety enormously, and now that my hubby and I are fighting about one of our kids, I'm not as reactionary and am able to focus on more important things. He has anger issues and I used to drink to hide. I'm still sipping wine at night, but not as much as before. I could do without the crying at commercials tho! Reminds me when I was pregnant!:thanks::thanks::upset:

when i was still drinking alcoholically the day after binges i tended to get emotional. feeling depressed, lonely, lost, whatever. drinking generally messed up my emotions. getting enraged or sad by things tht are completely beyond my control, taking too much of everything to heart.
while tirating up on bac, still drinking, this became worse. the lamentations in my thread show some proof of that although i was holding myself back over here, not wanting to soundd like a too big self pitying douche bag and all.
crying at commercials and movies could be sort of liberating too, can't it?

more focus and less rectionary sound like typical baclofen effects. that's what gaba does.

so, ehh, what i wanted to say is: not drinking with bac helps hugely with all se's. (sorry, lazy day vagueness... i forget my point on hourly basis today)

I'll agree with Joanna and others that bac SE's +drinking is significantly different than bac SE's while AF.

I did/do find myself more emotional, insecure, having pity parties for myself, in the first few sober weeks. It could be partly the bac, but I think it's actually processing life while aware and not numbing out by drowning my feelings in poison... which I wasn't even aware I was doing-- I thought I just really enjoyed the sauce. Turns out it was both. Life sober can be an emotional rollercoaster but I'm starting my 4th week now and things are balancing out nicely. Sometimes ya just gotta shed some tears and know that even so, you'll be OK.

Also... I think sending a child to college would make any parent more emotional, as will fighting with a partner... just know that sadness is OK, and happy times are on their way too (especially more and more with more AF time).
