How does cold turkey AF compare when on Baclofen?

I would like try some AF days but i'm scared of withdrawals. I have read here that baclofen helps reduce the withdrawals. So i'm wondering to those who have done cold turkey wd and wd with baclofen only, how does each compare?

I started taking baclofen 31 days ago, im now up to 110mg a day. My cravings feel reduced and I feel that i could attempt some AF days. I drink about a liter of white wine at night after 6pm. When I've quit before i usually stop the alcohol and start using valium over 6 days in decreasing dosages until i've tapered off. I could do the same this time round.
01-01-2014 - Indifference reached, success with high dose Baclofen 295mg.

If I remember rightly baclofen can be used for alcohol withdrawl and I'd hazard a guess you'd be find with AF days at the dose you are at. It's a lot less risky than valium.
I used the Sinclair Method to beat my alcoholic drinking.

Drank within safe limits for almost 2 years

    AF date 22/07/13

when i switched i went from an average of i think 18+ drinks to zero in one day. i did have withdrawal symptoms for a few days, but i think that's not so supprising with a sudden big drop like that. (also my body is rather sensitive to disruptions). nothing i coulnd't handle though. quite a supprise along with it: having a beer to ease some of it was in no way an option the thought of drinking was suddenly completely alien to me.
before baclofen i couldn't go AF without thorough week long librium detox, it would have been dangerous to try without. not that i'd have been able to effectively try. the grasp to the bottle was too close at hand.

just try it. i suspect you'll be fine, and baclofen will ease out all withdrawal. stash your fridge with non alcoholic drinks you really like. lots of water is also good to help detoxing.
and you'll probably be more than fine. baclofen without alcohol feels so much better.

      good luck!

This pretty much jibes with my experience after I found a tolerable dosing schedule. At 240 mg with a front-loaded schedule, I suddenly went from an average of 15 per day to 4 to 1 to zero with only some evening irritability and general low-level agitation (as in being completely unable to multitask; as long as I could focus on one thing at a time, I was fine) as a side effect. The only adjuncts were 7.5 mg clorazepate mid-morning and an occasional 0.25 alprazolam in the evening. I was able to bring the baclofen down to 140 mg after settling into this regime.
