YES! didn't see your original post, but if it's what I think it is, that's what I'm doing! Drinking and getting drunk when there's a party or it's the weekend. Staying AF no problem during the week/for work/or if I have to drive that night

Fish-- you sound good! Plenty of people would talk about a slippery slope, and I guess it probably is, but I'm glad you're all right right now, and hope things keep working out for you.

I also like this thread a lot, even though I didn't see the first post.

My experience has been similar. I've been abstinent with bac and have indulged non-compulsively with bac. Overall, I think I feel better without alcohol and abstinence is still the goal. It's just that even on a daily dose of 60mg, on a slow day like today, not working or anything, I find myself engaged in other activities and not thinking about alcohol like I would have in the past. Baclofen is an awesome tool for regaining control of your drinking. You're better off, IMO, without alcohol, but drinking much less and not feeling you have to is a HUGE step for any of us with a history of abusing the sauce (actually we don't "abuse" substances.. like, I've never beat the shit out of a 40 oz. or anything... we abuse ourselves with them.. ah semantics).

          Hey,

Sorry for the touch of confusion. I started this thread and for some reason deleted it. At the time I thought it didn't make sense. My heads been all over the place. I tried to wipe it but it wouldn't let me. The basic gist of it was that I'm sitting at 80mg and can't go no higher as after even 14 weeks the SEs are crippling.

I was shooting for indifference but it looks like I'm not going to get near a switch dose. My drinking is under control 2-3 beers a sitting which is great.

I'd have taken this at the start even thought its not ideal. The SEs have been very hard to deal with. They're all psychological and hard to deal with. 80mg is even a bit of a struggle. I'm 6'0/180lb so its not a weight thing.

No? I have... on several occasions. :H

Yeah, it's never a weight/body mass/gender thing. There's no explanation that I know of, it just affects people differently. 2-3 beers sounds like a normal (fairly lame ) night to me. I'd say don't worry so much about a "switch" and just manage dose and SEs and keep doing what works.

              Hey Stuck! Been a while.

Yes, to answer your question, I'm good. I've been titrating down as usual, and I think my maintenance dose is around 180/200mg, less and I'll drink during the week.
The nasty hypomania/depression/anxiety SEs have been less intense, and my sleep is OK most of the time. My maintenance dose is quite high, but it's because I still drink on weekends, usually a lot. For now it's ok, as long as I can stay sober during the week, I'm fine.

              How have you been?

              Cheers,

              - Fish
