I'm on methadone and I am an alcoholic. Have been drinking heavy for seven years. Because of the methadone I can't take any benzos or I'll lose my take homes and have to go to the clinic everyday.However, I do get 13 days of take homes every two weeks. I have access to vistiril and remeron,if I time it right I can use these meds for about 4 days to help with the alcohol withdrawals without coming up positive on a drug screen? Any suggestions?

If you have the discipline and/or someone to help, tapering off alcohol could be a good way to avoid withdrawal, especially considering that while you can't get benzos you CAN get more alcohol pretty much anywhere.
